Reasons the Obama Presidency Is In Trouble (Already!)

Some of us have been warning that it was not healthy for the U.S. media to have deified rather than questioned Obama, especially given that they tore apart Bush, ridiculed Palin, and caricatured Hillary. And now we can see the results of their two years of advocacy rather than scrutiny.

We are quite literally after two weeks teetering on an Obama implosion—and with no Dick Morris to bail him out—brought on by messianic delusions of grandeur, hubris, and a strange naivete that soaring rhetoric and a multiracial profile can add requisite cover to good old-fashioned Chicago politicking.

(The above is part of  a column written by Victor Davis Hanson. Read more of what he wrote below.)

First, there were the sermons on ethics, belied by the appointments of tax dodgers, crass lobbyists, and wheeler-dealers like Richardson—with the relish of the Blago tapes still to come. (And why does Richardson/Daschle go, but not Geithner?).

Second, was the "stimulus" (the euphemism for "borrow/print money") that was simply a way to go into debt for a generation to shower Democratic constituencies with cash.

And the result of all this?

At home, Obama is becoming laughable and laying the groundwork for the greatest conservative populist reaction since the Reagan Revolution.

(I agree with those who want Obama's radical left policies to fail. However everyone including those of us from the right must keep Obama in our prayers. Read more of the above column  6 Reasons the Obama Presidency Is In Big Trouble (Already!)

California court to hear gay marriage case in March

California's Supreme Court early next month will hear arguments over whether to allow a ban on same-sex marriage that has become a national rallying point for gays and their supporters. California voters on November 4 approved a constitutional amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman. A ruling by the same state top court which is now considering the ban had opened the way to same-sex marriage in May of last year, ushering in a summer of gay nuptials ended by the vote.

(Lets all hope and pray this time the CA. high court will submitt to the will of the CA. voters though I wouldn't bet the house on it. Read more on this issue California court to hear gay marriage case in March.)

The Pittsburgh Steelers and their millions of Terrible Towel waving fans are  still celebrating an exciting comeback win in Super Bowl XLIII.

But, from a pro-life perspective there’s one thing that could have made this super bowl  even more super.   NBC rejected an ad with a powerful pro-life message that features ultrasound pictures of a baby and the life of a new President – and Steelers’ fan – Barack Obama.

Do take time to watch the Super Bowl Ad NBC Rejected.

Mass. couple who led gay marriage fight to divorce

A lesbian couple who led the fight for homosexual marriage in Massachusetts has filed for divorce. Julie and Hillary Goodridge were among seven gay couples who filed a lawsuit that led to a court ruling making Massachusetts the first state to legalize same-sex marriages in 2004. ( Mass. couple who led gay marriage fight to divorce  )

(This news item should show we are in a culture war. The prize to the winners is the hearts and souls of our children. Things like this should remind us the answer is not politics but a spiritual change which comes through Jesus Christ.)

Tax Problems Stop Tom Daschle

Barack Obama on Tuesday gave up his nomination fight for Tom Daschle and a second high-profile appointee who failed to pay all their taxes, fearing ugly confirmation battles that would undercut his claims to ethical high ground and cripple his presidency in just its second week. "I screwed up," he declared. (Tax problems torpedo two big nominations...   )

"It's important for this administration to send a message that there aren't two sets of rules - you know, one for prominent people and one for ordinary folks who have to pay their taxes," Obama said in one of a series of interviews with TV anchors.

"I'm frustrated with myself, with our team. ... I'm here on television saying I screwed up," Obama said in an interview on NBC's "Nightly News with Brian Williams." He repeated virtually the same words in several other interviews.

(Well it looks like today was not a good day for President Obama. It is good Obama said there shouldn't be two rule books but left has been giving us two books of rules for awhile. The media would be giving us heck if  this was an nomination from President Bush and the media would be all over it.)

Spirit Airlines Sex Spot

How low can things get? Prettty low. Watch the following TV spot  from  Spirit Airlines. I just saw a spokes- person from the airlines on Fox saying that spot is pretty popular with middle of America people. I am from middle America and believe me people here don't like things like this spot. The spokes person also said this was a business decision. Too bad Spirit  doesn't follow the Bible verse which says what does it profit a man if he gaines the whole world but forfeits his soul.
Watch the video right here and see what you think. Also explain to me what does this spot have to do with getting people to fly.

Faith mixes with football for Super Bowl

(Below  is a story from last week which I had saved on desk.)
Arizona running back Tim Hightower had just finished a thoughtful explanation of his religious beliefs when one of the media types who found their way into the Super Bowl stadium Tuesday decided he needed more proof.

“Can you pray right now?” he asked.

“I can pray that whatever is going on in your life right now that you find God,” Hightower said.

(It is cool to know there are people of faith in the sports world for our children to look up to. Read the rest of the above story Faith mixes with football for Super Bowl.)

Call for pope to step down over Holocaust denier

Attacks on Pope Benedict XVI's decision to lift the excommunication of a Holocaust denier escalated Monday, with one theologian calling on him to step down as the head of the Roman Catholic Church.

Criticism following the pope's January 24 announcement has been particularly cutting in Germany, where denying the Holocaust is a crime punishable with a jail sentence.

"If the pope wants to do some good for the Church, he should leave his job," eminent liberal Catholic theologian Hermann Haering told the German daily Tageszeitung.

"That would not be a scandal, a bishop has to relinquish his position at 75 years, a cardinal loses his rights at 80 years," he said. Pope Benedict is 81.
Meanwhile, a senior Vatican official acknowledged the Vatican administration may have made "management errors" with the decision to lift excommunication against four bishops, including Richard Williamson, whose comments sparked the controversy.

Super Bowl Video and Super Bowl Thoughts

What did I think of the Super Bowl.
I had mixed feelings because I am a big fan of Kurt Warner the quarter back for AZ.  But I also have an Aunt and Uncle who live in Pittsburgh.
I thought it truly was a super Bowl and super game which all super bowls have been.
Does faith play a part in sports and in the super bowl. I believe faith does play a part but please stay with me even if you disagree with me on that point.
To find out how faith can play a part in sports, in the Super Bowl, and in life watch this video ( Super Bowl 2 1 09   ) I just posted last night following the game.

THE SUPER, SUPER BOWL

Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh offense ended a Super Bowl of incredible swings with a final-minute touchdown for a historic victory. Santonio Holmes made a brilliant 6-yard catch deep in the right corner of the end zone with 35 seconds remaining Sunday night, lifting the Steelers to a record-setting sixth Super Bowl win, 27-23 over the Arizona Cardinals.  (    THE SUPER, SUPER BOWL   )

It was one of the most thrilling finishes to the NFL title game, certainly equaling last year's upset by the New York Giants that ended with Plaxico Burress' TD catch - with 35 seconds left, too. But this one was even wilder.

The Steelers (15-4), winning their second Super Bowl in four seasons, led 20-7 in the fourth quarter, only to see Kurt Warner and the Cardinals stage a remarkable rally to go in front 23-20 with 2:37 remaining.
(Even though the team I pick didn't win (though my pick that the Steelers wouldn't win by more than five points was right) I have to tip my hat to the Champs. It was truly a Super Bowl Game. Both teams played great ball. The only thing missing was the Champs saying what a great game was played by AZ. I don't want to push it but after most games you hear that. I will blame some of it on the youthfulnes. I also wasn't too crazy with the owner of the Steelers who I like thanking President Obama. No matter what all of us should tip our hats to the champs.)
