White House: Sotomayor says she chose word poorly

President Barack Obama on Friday personally sought to deflect criticism about Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, who finds herself under intensifying scrutiny for saying in 2001 that a female Hispanic judge would often reach a better decision than a white male judge. (  White House: Sotomayor says she chose word poorly - )

"I'm sure she would have restated it," Obama flatly told NBC News, without indicating how he knew that.

(Could this judge be the Bork of the left. I do know that those in the GOP need to be careful when they bring this  stuff  up but it must be brought up. What if some white male had said  a white male would be a   are better judge than a  female Hispanic. He would be forced to remove his name from being on the high court. It sounds to me like there is a double standard at play here.)

Schwarzenegger Calls Rush Limbaugh Fat

One day after appearing on "The Tonight Show," Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger still hadn't gotten all the shtick out of his system.

On Wednesday, when asked if Rush Limbaugh was the leader of the GOP, Schwarzenegger -- a politician not known for comedy (i.e. Jingle All the Way") -- took the opportunity to make a fat joke.

"I think that they say that Rush Limbaugh is the 800-pound gorilla in the Republican Party," Schwarzenegger said during the online chat with CNN.
 
(Instead of trying to make jokes which aren't funny the Gov. of CA. should keep his focus on getting his state out of the miss it is in.)

Charges dropped in Election Day 'intimidation' incident

The Obama Justice Department has dropped Election Day charges against the New Black Panther Party for Self Defense. ( Charges dropped in Election Day 'intimidation' incident )

 

 

According to Fox News, the charges are related to an incident on Election Day 2008 at a polling place in Philadelphia, when three members of the New Black Panthers were accused of intimidating voters and blocking poll and campaign workers. (View Fox News video report)
 
(Watch the above report from Fox News or this  YouTube - Video  and see if you think the charges against the Black Panther Party should have been dropped. I wonder what would have happen if  those men with knives had been part of the KKK. I guess President Obama is  thinking it is ok for somebody to hold a night stick at a polling place. Thank you President Obama.)

NYC teacher caught having sex with 14-year-old student in classroom...

A Queens teacher and her student were recently caught having sex in the classroom.  (  NYC teacher caught having sex with 14-year-old student in classroom )

On Thursday she was behind bars, charged with rape, sexual abuse and child endangerment after the student's mom tracked her down.

Her head hung low, Melissa Weber was ushered away in cuffs, no doubt thinking about the probable end to her teaching career and whether her alleged sexual rendezvous with her 14-year-old student had been worth it.
(This teacher should be put in prison for years and never be able to teach again.)

Man fathers 21 children by 11 different women -- and he's only 29!)

A  man aged 29 has fathered 21 children with 11 different women, it emerged yesterday.

Desmond Hatchett's brood came to light after authorities in Tennessee in the U.S. took him to court for non-payment of child support.

He has apparently set a U.S. record but said: 'It just happened.'

California School District to Teach Elementary Kids about Homosexuality

The same day the California Supreme Court upheld Proposition 8 — the state's constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman — a school district in the state essentially decided to disregard the ruling.

The Alameda School Board voted 3-1 on Tuesday in favor of a curriculum that promotes same-sex relationships beginning in the first grade. (  CitizenLink: California School District to Teach Elementary Kids about Homosexuality )
Parents are not allowed to opt their kids out of the program, which school officials claim falls under "anti-discrimination” provisions.
 
(This is an outrage but if your children are in the Alameda Schools besides letting your school leaders know how upset you are why not just remove your kids from these  government school ASAP.)

San Diego County Targets Weekly Bible Study At Home; Pastor, Wife Cited...

A local pastor and his wife claim they were interrogated by a San Diego County official, who then threatened them with escalating fines if they continued to hold bible studies in their home, 10News reported. (San Diego County Targets Weekly Bible Study At Home; Pastor, Wife Cited... )

 

Attorney Dean Broyles of The Western Center For Law & Policy was shocked with what happened to the pastor and his wife.

 

Broyles said, "The county asked, 'Do you have a regular meeting in your home?' She said, 'Yes.' 'Do you say amen?' 'Yes.' 'Do you pray?' 'Yes.' 'Do you say praise the Lord?' 'Yes.'"
The county employee notified the couple that the small bible study, with an average of 15 people attending, was in violation of county regulations, according to Broyles.
(I thought this was America. This sounds like some thing which would happen in Cuba not the good old USA.)

'Jon & Kate' Plus 9.8 Million Viewers

Some people complain that the stars' marital troubles have become painful to watch, but despite (or because of) those troubles, the fifth-season premiere earned monster ratings.
 
(I don't watch this show I have viewed parts of it when I have been switching the channel. Kate has turned me off. It looks to me like she is in love with fame. This is not a good way to bring kids up. What does this say about TV that TLC wants to keep this show even while this family might be breaking up. What does it say about our culture that more people are watching as this couple goes through hard times. I don't think Jon and Kate are acting to get higher ratings but nothing shocks  me anymore.)

Those of you who believe I am wrong will love  what the first part of this video. A few days ago was Memorial Day and on my last video I said something like this thank those who have served or are serving along with honoring those who have died for our nation.

YouTube offers family-friendly option

The Parents Television Council (PTC) is commending YouTube for giving users a way to filter explicit comments on its videos. (YouTube offers family-friendly option )
"Even kids entering very child-friendly search terms, like Jonas Brothers or Hannah Montana -- although they would not likely find pornographic content as a result of those search terms -- quite often there was pornographic language in the comments posted by other site users," Melissa Henson of  PTC notes.
 "What we have discovered is that YouTube just announced a policy where they would be adding content filters to allow people to block out obscene language from user comments posted by other site users."
(Ok this is good but this doesn't excuse parents from enforcing rules about being on the net.)

TX 'hate crimes' bill targets children

Jonathan Saenz of the Texas-based Free Market Foundation says lawmakers in The Lone Star State are targeting young children with a "hate crimes" bill.HB 824  targets children as young as ten years of age who are allegedly guilty of hate crimes.
"If they committed some crime and it had to do with the issue of 'sexual preference' -- particularly the issue of homosexuality -- they could be punished," he says, "and a judge could order them to go to a program where they have to accept the other side and accept the views of homosexuality."
 
According to Saenz, even more punishment could be doled out. "[T]he judge could [also] order them to do community service where they have to do a project in the homosexual community that serves the homosexual community's interest," he offers.
 
(Children should be taught  to respect others and punished when they  don't. However that teaching should come from the home or the church and the punishment should come from the home.
