Stoning of Soraya M.: See This Film (or Stop Complaining About Hollywood)

In Hollywood courage is defined as savaging oil, power and tobacco executives on film. Or producing yet another movie on the evils of the Iraq War. But if courage means doing what is unpopular -- especially among one’s peers -- I can recall precious few politically incorrect films made in the last decade ("The Dark Knight" comes to mind as a possible exception.
How many politically incorrect movies has Hollywood made in the last generation? How many films, for instance, have depicted communist evil? Given that Communism murdered more than 100 million innocents -- in peacetime! -- and enslaved about 1 billion more, one would think that Hollywood would have made a fair number of movies depicting the horrors of communism. But aside from "Dr. Zhivago" and "The Killing Fields," I cannot think of any. There are, of course, innumerable films depicting Nazi evil -- as well there should be -- but it takes no courage to make films depicting Nazis as evil.

(The above is part of a column written by Dennis Prager.Read more of the column below.)
Yet, now, released as if by Providence the week after the fraudulent elections in Iran and the suppression and murder of Iranian dissidents, is a film about the nature of the radical Muslims who govern Iran. Titled "The Stoning of Soraya M.," the film depicts events based on the true story of a woman stoned to death in a rural village in Iran in 1986 for allegedly committing adultery.
If you want to understand the type of people who run Iran, see this film. If you want to understand why men and women risk their lives to demonstrate against the fascist theocracy that rules Iran, see this film. The film is about the type of people who become “supreme leader” (Ali Khamanei) or president of Iran (Mahmoud Ahmadinejad). It is about their mendacity, their use of religion to commit barbarity, and, of course, their despicable treatment of women.
And don’t see it solely in order to understand what the dissidents in Iran are fighting -- though that would be an entirely valid reason. See it also because it is a powerful theatrical and emotional experience. Washington Post reviewer Dan Zak wrote that he wept while watching the movie.
(I don't like to encourage people to go to movies I haven't seen myself however enough people who I respect have written endorsements of this movie I think I am safe to endorse it. I hope to see it soon myself. If you like to read all of what Dennis Prager wrote click

School backpedaling on homosexual parade involvement

Chicago elementary school children recently led a "gay pride" parade.
As OneNewsNow recently reported, students from Chicago's Nettlehorst Elementary School participated in Sunday's "gay pride" parade. School officials claim the school did not endorse the event, but said that some parents were allowing their children to march in the parade.
Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality observed the event. "The Nettlehorst administrators are equivocating on this issue," he says. "They're trying not to take responsibility for allowing their school to be in the parade, and Nettlehorst elementary, a big banner for their contingent, was at the parade. They were the first contingent to march.
( Another great stand taken by a government school. I wonder if this same school would allow their students to be in a love Jesus  parade. If you have to think about that you are not up to date  on our government schools. Read more of the above story right here.)

Catholic hospital will not work with a Pro. Abortion Group

A Catholic hospital chain in Massachusetts has bowed to public pressure. (  Controversial hospital merger halted )
The Catholic hospital system in Boston, known as Caritas Christi, had already signed papers to enter into an agreement with a secular organization to provide a healthcare network that would cover abortions, contraception, and other things that are against Catholic teaching.
ALL ( American Life League   ) members and others around the country urged Boston Cardinal Sean O'Malley to halt the contract.

"The cardinal announced that he had gotten involved and that he had ordered that the whole arrangement be ended," Sedlak adds, "and that Caritas Christi will remain separate as a Catholic hospital system."

(This is good news,  why should a hospital which comes from a faith that believes killing  children  is wrong work with a pro. abortion group   to see more babies killed.)

Teachers' union to consider abortion issue

The National Education Association will convene for their national meeting in San Diego July 1-6. Jeralee Smith, one of the co-founders of the NEA Conservative Educators Caucus, says one of the items her group has placed on the agenda is abortion. ( Teachers' union to consider abortion issue )

"The union contributes to candidates who will maintain the current Roe v. Wade decision and make sure that the abortion industry is alive and well," she explains. "And this supposedly is done with the portion of union dues that...is optional.

(Excuse me what does education have to do with Roe v. wade. Why should teachers who are pro life have the dues they pay to the N.E.A. used to encourage something they don't believe is right. Would the N.E.A. think of using money from black teachers to support David Duke running for President.)

Obama hopes to persuade all Americans to accept homosexuality

President Barack Obama says that while he's dedicated to expanding homosexual rights, many Americans still cling to what he calls "worn arguments and old attitudes."
At a White House celebration of Gay Pride Month, Obama said he hopes to persuade all Americans to accept homosexuality. ""There are good and decent people in this country who don't yet fully embrace their gay brothers and sisters -- not yet," said the president. ( Obama hopes to persuade all Americans to accept homosexuality )

(As a Bible based follower of the Lord Jesus and a person who backs family based values I will never accept the homosexual lifestyle no matter who backs it. I know I am hateful. I will always treat all people including those in the homosexual camp with caring respect and love. However respecting some soul doesn't mean you have to back the way they are living. Besides those who are part of the radical camp in homosexuality don't just want us to accept the way they live but want to push it down us including same sex marriage, and adoption. They should be thinking of what is best for the kids and our country instead of their own wants.Voters is this the kind of change you wanted in D.C.?)

School insults parent, denies opt-out request

A derogatory memo has been unearthed in a California school case.
The case centers around a concerned parent who wished to opt his child out of so-called "diversity" training at Big Bear High School in Big Bear Lake, California. According to state law, parents are only allowed to opt their children out of health education and not diversity training, but only if said health education conflicts with the student's religious belief. Using that law, school officials denied the request to opt out. ( School insults parent, denies opt-out request )

(If you live in CA why do you still have your kids in the government schools. What will it take for you to say see you later to the CA. government schools. They are burning spirituality and hurting the morals of your children.)

Man who dropped off 9 kids now dad-to-be

Staton became the single father of 10 kids — ages 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 9, 8, 5, 4 and 1 month — in February 2007 when his wife, RebelJane, died after suffering a cerebral aneurysm. The oldest child was his wife's daughter from a previous relationship that he had raised as his own.

Without his wife, Gary Staton said, the amount of work involved and the stress of raising the kids on $10.75 an hour wages were too much to handle.

“I was 100 percent sure that I couldn't last much longer doing this routine over and over, and I wanted to just walk away from it all,” he said in March, when he granted interviews to The World-Herald to share his side of the story with the public.

Aside from his oldest daughter, he said, he did not ask for help from anyone in the family. He did not seek government assistance after losing his job in September.

That month, he told his kids — all but the oldest, who legally was an adult — he was taking them to Creighton University Medical Center for grief counseling. When they arrived, he notified hospital staff that he was invoking Nebraska's safe haven law, which allowed parents to leave their children without facing criminal prosecution.

At the time, the law had no age limit. The Legislature later limited it to newborns after 27 parents and guardians dropped off kids.
(The above is part of a story from my local paper. Well guess what there is an update to this story which you might not believe.)
Gary Staton said he had lost the will to be a parent after his wife died.

Now, the man who dropped off his nine kids under Nebraska's safe haven law is going to be a father again.

Staton, 37, and his girlfriend are expecting a baby.
(Ok  you can't handle the children you had and didn't even ask for help from your family but you go have sex with a lady who you have not married. That sounds like a good plan to me. Not! Children  aren't toys or should they be treated like they are. Read more of the above story Man who dropped off 9 kids now dad-to-be .)

Sanford Compares Plight To King David

South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford got back to work Friday, but first he had some more apologizing to do.

In his first public event since he revealed his mistress in Argentina, the Republican governor met with state agency heads in what is usually a low-key Cabinet meeting. He specifically apologized to the agency leaders that handle economic development trips and his security, and likened his struggle to that of King David.  (  Sanford Compares Plight To King David -  )
The governor, who talked about "moral absolutes" and God's law during his revealing, yet rambling news conference Wednesday, said King David "fell mightily, fell in very, very significant ways, but then picked up the pieces and built from there."

(Instead of defending himself this man needs to admit he did wrong, repent to God and his family. He also should  leave the job of running his state and focus on repairing his relations with his wife and children.)

Boy's killer seeks execution

This is a new one.

An Omaha  man convicted of strangling an 8-year-old boy is challenging his life sentence.

Challenging it, that is, by asking to be executed.

In a motion filed this week in Douglas County District Court, Patrick Ronald Russell, who was 17 at the time of the November 1973 killing of young Joseph Edmonds, asked a judge to order him to be executed “at the earliest possible date.”

Russell writes that in April 2008, he “was forced into protective custody unit which constitutes disciplinary islouation after being assaulted by two gang members with the approval of Warden Francis (sic) Britten and has been denied all requests fro transfer to another prison facility so that he may reside in general population.”

He says he is not allowed to exercise because “it is unsafe for defendant to cross the main prison yard, according to Warden Britten.”

Britten said he could not comment specifically on Russell's disciplinary record.

However, he said, inmates are placed in protective custody because of “concerns for their safety,” not as a form of punishment. And, he said, those inmates are allowed to exercise and have access to medical care, visitors and religious services.

(I am not sure about this. On the one hand I don't think a killer should be able to pick his punishment. Some might say this a way for this killer to get his punishment over quick. As a person of faith I believe if this man doesn't repent to God and come to faith in Jesus he will face ever-lasting punishment. Read more of  the above story Boy's killer seeks execution .)

Rabbi Shmuley: The tragic end. of Michael Jackson

I was on vacation with my family in Iceland when my office called and shared the terrible news of Michael Jackson's passing. My wife and children were with me in the van. We could scarcely believe what we had heard. The children all remembered Michael fondly. He had given them their dog Marshmallow who is a member of our family until today. My daughter teared up. And while I was heartsick at the news, especially for his three young children, I was not shocked. I dreaded this day and knew it had to come sooner rather than later.
In the two years that I had attempted, ultimately unsuccessfully, to help Michael repair his life, what most frightened me was not that he would be arrested again for child molestation, although he later was. Rather it was that he would die. As I told CNN on April 22, 2004, "My great fear, and why I felt I had to be distanced from Michael ... was that he would not live long. My fear was that Michael's life would be cut short. When you have no ingredients of a healthy life, when you are totally detached from that which is normal, and when you are a super-celebrity you, God forbid, end up like Janis Joplin like Elvis... Michael is headed in that direction."

(The above is part of a piece that RABBI SHMULEY BOTEACH  wrote.  Read more of what the Rabbi wrote below.)
I am no prophet and it did not take a rocket scientist to see the impending doom. Michael was a man in tremendous pain and his tragedy was to medicate his pain away rather than addressing its root cause. On many occasions when I visited him he would emerge from his room woozy and clearly sedated.
By the time I met Michael in the summer of 1999, he was already one of the most famous people in the world, but he seemed lethargic, burned-out, and purposeless. He wanted to consecrate his great fame to helping children but knew he could not due to the 1993 child molestation allegations against him. He was cut off from family and was alienated from the Jehovah's Witnesses Church which had nurtured him. He could barely muster the energy to complete the album he was working on. The only thing that seemed to motivate him was his children, to whom he was exceptionally devoted.
As we grew closer, I tried to impress on Michael that his salvation would come not from further concerts or album sales, but from reconnecting with loved ones, finding a spiritual anchor, replacing his desire for attention with a hunger for righteous action, and surrounding himself with serious and wise friends. I took him to meet Elie Wiesel, the Holocaust survivor and Nobel laureate.
He came with me to synagogue and regularly attended Shabbat dinner. He seemed directed and content.

In many ways his tragedy was to mistake attention for love. I will never forget what he said when we sat down to record 40 hours of conversations where he would finally reveal himself for a book I authored. He turned to me and said these haunting words: "I am going to say something I have never said before and this is the truth. I have no reason to lie to you and God knows I am telling the truth. I think all my success and fame, and I have wanted it, I have wanted it because I wanted to be loved.

(It is sad that Michael  Jackson never saw the love he was looking for could only be found through God perhaps he did see that before he left this world we just don't know. It is also too bad others didn't listen to the warning  RABBI SHMULEY BOTEACH  gave. Do read the whole column the rabbi wrote  The tragic end.)

New Video Posted

“I got the sucker!” Obama told  a CNBC correspondent .
----------------
I wonder if we will now see the pain theses children along with other children of divorce go through. Also think about when theses kids are teens or preteens they will be able to see everything their parents said. How sad.

The above is what I said on a video I did last night for You Tube. To see  what I was talking about and more please watch the video  by clicking  right here.)
