GLSEN founder overseeing safety of nation's schools?

A conservative activist says the appointment of the founder of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network to head the U.S.

Education Department's Office of Safe Schools is the equivalent of putting O.J. Simpson in charge of women's safety.
GLSEN founder Kevin Jennings was recently appointed by Education Secretary Arne Duncan to serve as assistant deputy secretary of the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools.
The Department's announcement of Jennings' appointment describes GLSEN as "an organization that works to make schools safe for all students, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity."

But Linda Harvey, president of Mission America, says the Jennings appointment is a radical move. GLSEN, she explains, is a "child corruption" organization that consistently promotes books on its website that legitimize sexual encounters between adults and minors.

(This was a bad move. There is no way this group or anyone with it should be helping to make our schools safer. Read more about this outrage  by clicking right here.)

More Thoughts on Dr. Tiller Murder in church

Dr. George Tiller, one of the nation's few providers of late-term abortions despite decades of protests and attacks, was shot and killed Sunday in a church where he was serving as an usher.
The gunman fled, but a 51-year-old suspect was detained some 170 miles away in suburban Kansas City three hours after the shooting, Wichita Deputy Police Chief Tom Stolz said. (  Kan. abortion doc killed in church; suspect held -  )

The slaying of the 67-year-old doctor is "an unspeakable tragedy," his widow, four children and 10 grandchildren said in statement. "This is particularly heart-wrenching because George was shot down in his house of worship, a place of peace."

The family said its loss "is also a loss for the city of Wichita and women across America. George dedicated his life to providing women with high-quality health care despite frequent threats and violence."

Stolz said all indications were that the gunman acted alone, although authorities were investigating whether he had any connection to anti-abortion groups.
(While I wouldn't agree his death is a loss to women I do agree like the abortions this man did his killing is an evil act. Two wrongs don't make a right. The murder if he was part of the pro life camp is living in hypocrisy. You can't say you are against killing unborn children and then go kill a man who does abortions. Your life at times will show people what you really believe and if your life doesn't back what you say your words are worthless.)

Statements on the Murder of Dr. George Tiller

(Below are some thoughts from pro life leaders on the muder in church  of  Kansas abortionist George Tiller:)

Press release from Vital Signs Ministries regarding the murder of Kansas abortionist George Tiller:

Denny Hartford, long time pro-life activist, the Director of Vital Signs Ministries and a co-founder of a local pregnancy care center, decried the disturbing news that Kansas abortionist George Tiller had been murdered Sunday morning. Hartford has himself participated in peaceful protests of Tiller's abortion business in Wichita.
"Having been involved with the pro-life community across the United States for three decades, I can testify that those who truly care about saving preborn babies from abortion also care about serving their parents and extended families, " Hartford said. "But as dedicated as we are about these goals, we are equally devoted to insuring that our activities (even those involving the protest of abortion) are peaceful, prayerful and compassionate."
"Such viciousness as that directed at George Tiller on Sunday is outrageous, unjust and deplorable. Genuine pro-life advocates seek, through prayer and education, to convert abortionists -- not to physically harm them. To act otherwise would be to severely damage our cause. (More can be found  on the Vital Signs blog  Statement on the Murder of George Tiller.)
Judy Smith of Concerned Women for America-Kansas had this reaction this afternoon.

"...[A]s a person who has spent a lot of time defending the sanctity of life, I really felt sorrow that his life did not have that same sanctity," states Smith. "We're not talking about just certain lives, we're talking about everyone's life -- and it's never right to do something wrong."
(Abortion, murder both wrong, say pro-lifers  )
Smith says the pro-life movement will continue to work diligently to protect the unborn through legal and peaceful means, not with deadly weapons. No one who is truly pro-life, she says, will take another person's life.
"I will continue to rely on the fact that there is only one judge in this world, and we will all stand before him someday," Smith shares.
Randy Thomasson, president of SaveAmerica.com, also condemns Tiller's murder.

"Although Tiller killed thousands of unborn babies through late-term and partial-birth abortions, murder is murder and wrong is wrong,"

(Pray we will soon see the end of  abortion in America and pray for Dr. George Tiller's family
because I am sure to them he was a father, husband, etc. Pray also for the people including the children who might have saw him  murdered in church. Pray too  this will not hurt the pro life or Christian message.)
