Episcopal Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori says it's "heresy" to believe that an individual can be saved through a sinner's prayer of repentance. ( Episcopal Bishop calls individual salvation 'heresy,' 'idolatry' )
In her opening address to the church's General Conference in California, Jefferts Schori called that "the great Western heresy: that we can be saved as individuals, that any of us alone can be in right relationship with God."
(A prayer doesn't mean anything unless you truly see in your soul your need to be saved. The sinners prayer is us agreeing with God that we all are sinners and needed Jesus to do what he did for us. By the way this so called Bishop also wants marriage rituals for homosexuals. Never mind what the Bible teaches. If you are part of this church you might give thought to leaving it, God already has.)
