William Ayers to speak

William Ayers — the 1960s radical, community activist and professor of education — will speak at an Omaha hotel Nov. 14, nearly one year after controversy led to the cancellation of a scheduled speech at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Ayers was invited to Omaha by the Academic Freedom Coalition of Nebraska, a loose coalition of organizations that promote academic freedom in the state. He will speak at the Holiday Inn convention center near 72nd and Grover Streets, in a public event with a $35 admission fee.

Dwayne Ball, a UNL marketing professor and president of the academic freedom coalition, condemned UNL administrators for canceling last year's speech and said the coalition is making a point about academic freedom.

“Nothing in our invitation to Dr. Ayers means we condone or condemn his former activities or his politics, or even his educational theories,” Ball said in a statement. “In fact, as much as we expect to find his speech very interesting, this event is not about Dr. Ayers. It is about the idea of academic freedom.
Ayers could not be reached for comment. In his 20s, he was a leader of the Weather Underground, a group that formed to violently protest the Vietnam War. The group bombed public buildings — including the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol — participated in riots and was labeled a terrorist organization by the FBI.
(If this man had said he was sorry and wrong for what he did I would have no issue with him coming to my state to give a talk however he has never shown true sorrow for his actions. Also far as  the Academic Freedom Coalition doing the same for somebody on the right I will believe it when I see it. Read more on this issue Ayers to speak in Omaha.)

Catholic School cancels speech from conservative activist

Conservative activist David Horowitz has been asked not to present a speech titled "Islamo-Fascism Awareness and Civil Rights" at St. Louis University.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Catholic school canceled his appearance because officials were concerned the speech could be viewed as "attacking another faith." (School cancels speech from conservative activist  )

The school's College Republicans student group had invited Horowitz to speak on campus this month. Money generated from student activity fees would have paid for the appearance.

(This should concern every Catholic and every American who is concerned  how Islam is trying to change America and look like a peaceful faith. It is an outrage that everyday the Christian faith is attacked and no one gets upset. It is also an outrage that a Catholic College has done this. If  followers of Islam can't handle the truth being told about their faith the problem is with them not the rest of us.)

BREAKING NEWS: No Olympics in Chicago

The Obama charm has failed to impress Olympic officials considering a site for the 2016 Olympics.

President Barack Obama and his wife both made personal appeals before the Olympic committee in Copenhagen this week to have the 2016 games in their hometown of Chicago.  Many thought the president's popularity abroad might win the day for Chicago.  But in the initial announcement from Copenhagen this morning, Chicago was eliminated in the first round of voting.
(Well the great Obama along with his wife have come up short. Not only did Chicago not get the games but Chicago was removed from being the possible city in the first round. What is going to happen next news that the great Obama can't walk on water. Read more on this story right here.)

Congressman rebukes fellow Muslim for linking Islam to terrorism

Congressman Keith Ellison denounced Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, for warning that political Islam has a militant strain that's used to justify terrorism. (Congressman rebukes fellow Muslim for linking Islam to terrorism   )

Jasser told a congressional briefing that terrorism won't be stopped until his Islamic faith goes through its own Reformation to separate mosque and state.

Ellison responded by accusing Jasser of giving people a "license for bigotry." The Minnesota Democrat said every religion has its violent extremists, and told Jasser, "I think people who want to engage in nothing less than Muslim-hating really love you a lot, because you give them freedom to do that.
(Not every follower of Islam is a backer of terrorism. However I have yet to see a Christian or Jew that has committed an act of terrorism and if they have  others of those faiths have been quick to call it wrong unlike those in the Islamic faith.)

Millionaire Michael Moore: 'Capitalism Did Nothing for Me'

Documentary film director Michael Moore, who has become a millionaire thanks to the profits from his movies, told CNSNews.com that “capitalism did nothing” for him.

CNSNews.com spoke with Moore on the red carpet at the Uptown Theatre in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday night before the premiere of his upcoming documentary, “Capitalism: A Love Story." (Millionaire Michael Moore: 'Capitalism Did Nothing for Me'...    )

CNSNews.com asked: “Critics may say, when they see this movie, Michael Moore has amassed a fortune of over $50 million, some have said and –”

Moore said:  “Really? Are you kidding me? Seriously? Wow. Where did it go?”

CNSNews.com then asked Moore: “Critics would say he’s [Moore] been very successful under a capitalist system. How would you justify making a movie where you paint capitalism as evil?”
(Never mind that Mr. Moore used capitalism to become rich through his movies.  It is ok for him to use America to make money Moore just doesn't want others like you and I making money.)

Michelle Obama: It's a 'sacrifice' to travel to Europe to pitch for Olympics. .

In her speech in Copenhagen today, First Lady Michelle Obama said her trip to Denmark, along with the travel of her "dear friend" and "chit-chat buddy" Oprah Winfrey, as well as tomorrow's visit by President Obama, is a "sacrifice" on behalf of the children of Chicago and the United States. "As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the president to come for these few days," the first lady told a crowd of people involved in the Chicago project, "so many of you in this room have been working for years to bring this bid home."
"As first lady, as many of you know, I’ve made it a priority to bridge the gap between the White House and communities across D.C. and across the country," Mrs. Obama continued. "I’ve spent much of my first nine months trying to open the doors to the White House to kids who might not otherwise see themselves having access to these institutions, because that’s where I came from – communities like that where kids never dreamed that they could set foot in the White House, let alone live there…And Barack and I made a point of doing the same thing when we lived in Chicago – making the concerns of kids in all sorts of communities our own."
(The above speech should show  how out of touch this White House is. Some people don't have jobs or are having to give  up things so their children can go to private schools. Some families don't have their father at home because they are fighting for America and freedom. However the First Lady says  traveling to another nation  is a "sacrifice". She needs to go spend time with some real Americans. Read more on this right here.)
