A day after Republican state Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava abruptly suspended her campaign in the New York special election, she's endorsing the liberal Democrat in the race -- not the Conservative Party candidate favored by fellow Republicans.
Following her surprise exit in the race for the rock-solid Republican congressional seat, Scozzafava said Sunday that Democrat Bill Owens is the best of the remaining candidates to build on the legacy of the previous holder of the 23rd Congressional District seat -- Republican John McHugh, who has taken a position in the Obama administration.
(I wonder what the leadership in the Republican Party who backed this so called Republican are thinking now that she is backing the Democrat. It sounds to me like she was Republican in name only. She should join that party. Read more on this story
