Thank Reagun that the Hostages in Iran Were Freed

Thirty years ago, the U.S. Embassy in Tehran was stormed by radical Islamists. Fifty-two Americans were held for 444 days.  The regime marks this date each year with rallies, "death to America" chants and the burning of the Stars and Stripes. This year is different. The opposition "Green Movement" is rebutting those slogans with their own "death to the dictator" chants. There are violent clashes in Tehran's streets. ( Violent Clashes Mark 30 Year Anniversary of Iran Hostage Crisis ... )

At one protest, the crowd reportedly chanted, "Obama, Obama, you are either with us or with them."  The Administration's actions are speaking loudly on that question.

(We must never forget what happen 30 years ago yesterday. The truth those who follow radical Islam including those who live in Iran hate America. We must keep our guard up to keep our nation from going through this again. It is funny that after  Reagun was elected the hostages were freed. Why did that happen? Because Reagun was going to use the strength of our nation to free them. He wasn't going to put up with anything from those in Iran who hated America. )

Huckabee: Third-party conservatives benefit liberals

Former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is explaining his decision not to endorse a candidate in the special election that was decided Tuesday night in New York's 23rd Congressional District.

Unlike other potential 2012 Republican presidential candidates like Tim Pawlenty and Sarah Palin, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee chose not to endorse Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman, who lost to Democrat Bill Owens by four points.

Huckabee tells OneNewsNow that more than a year ago, he agreed to be the speaker at an awards dinner for the Conservative Party in Syracuse. At that time, he says, Party officials specifically asked him not to get involved in the race, so he honored that commitment.

In addition to that, Huckabee says there is another reason why he did not endorse Hoffman. (

Huckabee: Third-party conservatives benefit liberals)

"I'm not a guy that believes that we typically are going to do very well by supporting third-party, independent candidates -- and I think we saw that in New Jersey. Chris Christie almost lost his bid [for governor of New Jersey] because of the presence of an independent," Huckabee notes.

(For the most part I don't support third party candidates but when the  Republican candidate is on the left and acts like a Democrat what is the difference between the two parties. That is why I backed a third party candidate in New York State. Mr. Huckabee  needs to do some thinking about that.)

Will Blue Dogs stand fast against abortion coverage?

Just two days before a possible vote on their healthcare bill, Democratic leaders in the House have still refused to include a provision in the legislation that would prohibit taxpayer funding of abortion under a new public health insurance program.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) is hoping to begin floor debate on Democrats' healthcare bill (H.R. 3692) Friday night, with the goal of holding a vote as early as Saturday. Meantime, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) is warning that the Senate may be unable to help President Obama make good on his repeated promise to pass healthcare legislation before the end of the year.

Blue Dog Democratic Congressman Bart Stupak (Michigan) said in a statement Wednesday he "will oppose bringing the bill to the floor until an amendment can be offered or language agreed that will prevent public funding for abortion." Fellow Blue Dog Travis Childers (D-Mississippi) has voiced similar intent, for the same reason.

(Could a fight be ahead among the Democrats and the Democrats. If any of the blue dogs are willing to support a plan which will make every tax payer pay for abortions every pro life voter should remember that next time he or she is up for an election day vote. Ecstasy in the Bronx! Yankees win title No. 27...

The New York Yankees bolted from the dugout even before the last grounder was scooped up. After waiting nine years for championship No. 27, no one would dare hold them back. ( Ecstasy in the Bronx! Yankees win title No. 27...  )

"It feels better than I remember it, man," captain Derek Jeter said. "It's been a long time."

Hideki Matsui tied a World Series record with six RBIs, Andy Pettittewon on short rest and New York beat the Philadelphia Phillies 7-3 in Game 6 on Wednesday night, finally seizing that elusive title — the most in all of sports.

Paint the town in pinstripes! Nearly a decade after their dynasty ended on a blooper in the desert, the Yankees are baseball's best again.

( I am not a fan of the Yankees but I  must tip my hat to them and their fans. You are the champs!  Also  to the Phillies and their fans good year. It takes a lot of work just to get a chance to win the title two years in a row.)

New Zealand mayor: Pay 'appalling underclass' not to breed...

AN outspoken Kiwi politician has proposed a new solution to the country's child abuse problem - pay the "appalling underclass" not to breed.

Michael Laws - who stirred up controversy by calling the late Tongan King a "bloated brown slug'' - has again hit the headlines.

"That there is a group within our society who give their children no hope nor opportunity from the moment that they are born," the regional mayor wrote on the New Zealand radio websitewhere he broadcasts as a talkback DJ.

"That these ‘parents’ are known to authorities ... and yet the authorities can only intervene after children have been harmed."

Mr Laws goes on to write: "it would be far better for this appalling underclass to be offered financial inducements not to have children, given the toxic environment that they would provide for any child in their care."

The mayor believes "the consequent financial and social savings to our community would be considerable.

"There are too many people who should not have children."

(Here is a new idea how about going after the people who abuse their children and if the current law is not allowing you to do that work through the right channels to change it. Read more of the above story New Zealand mayor: Pay 'appalling underclass' not to breed.)

Red-state Dems worried, rethink agenda...

Election Day losses in Virginia and New Jersey have congressional Democrats focused like never before on jobs — their own.

While the White House and party leaders are urging calm, Democratic incumbents from red states and Republican-leaning districts are anything but; Tuesday's statehouse defeats have left them acutely aware that their votes on health care reform and other major Obama initiatives could be career-enders in 2010 or beyond. (Red-state Dems worried, rethink agenda...  )

“I should be nervous,” said Rep. Parker Griffith, a freshman Democrat from Huntsville, Ala.

Griffith said the Democratic rank and file is “very, very sensitive” to the fact that issues being pushed by party leaders “have the potential to cost some of our front-line members their seats.

(They should be worried and us voters should be watching. Perhaps the fear of losing at the voting booth will save us from seeing government forced health care become the law of the land. )

Health-Care Overhaul Vote Set by House

House Democratic leaders, undeterred by delays in the Senate or this week’s Republican electoral triumphs, plan to call a vote Saturday on the most sweeping overhaul of U.S. health-care policy in four decades.

The House will move on the $1.05 trillion legislation that would cover 36 million uninsured people and create a government plan to compete with private insurers even after the election of Republican governors in New Jersey and Virginia. President Barack Obama will go to Capitol Hill tomorrow to meet with House Democrats, as they seek the 218 votes they need to pass the bill, a Democratic leadership aide said.

Party leaders signaled they’re ready for a debate on the legislation and a vote on its final passage by filing a 42-page amendment that made last-minute changes to the bill. The Nov. 3 filing triggered a 72-hour waiting period that Democrats pledged to give Republicans before a vote.

(So lets vote and go over the details later like how much this is going to cost. Those on the left just want more government control of our lives. Also voting on this on a Saturday kinds of looks to me like they want to sneak it by when most people are doing other things like watching football, and spending time with family. 14 years later, debate continues on Abortion Law

The Illinois parental notification law for abortions on underage children is back in court.

The law passed in 1995 has been tossed around by the courts in one fashion or another since implementation of the statute was blocked -- that is, until a federal appeals court recently approved it and ordered its implementation.

"Now the ACLU has run into court again, and they're asking that the law be stopped by a state court on the basis that our state constitution creates its own right of abortion," Brechja reports.

(What is wrong with the ACLU that it doesn’t parents to know before their under age children have an abortion. If the child gets sick after an abortion is the ACLU going to call 911, or a doctor. Of course not! The ACLU is just in the pockets of  the pro death camp. Read more on this issue  Illinois abortion law.)

A Catholic nun is acting as a patient escort at an abortion clinic

A Catholic nun is acting as a patient escort at an Illinois abortion clinic. The Dominican nun's active support has been going on for a number of years, according to Ann Scheidler of the Pro-Life Action League.

"Sister Donna Quinn is one of those, what we would like to call renegade nuns, who go[es] against the grain of what the Catholic Church teaches, and [she] actually supports a woman's choice of having an abortion," reports Scheidler. "She's been active in opposing pro-life missions for a long time." (
A sisterly escort, an unlikely place)

( As a non Catholic it looks like this nun should leave the ministry and perhaps the Catholic Church if she is going to back the murder of unborn children.)

Traditional marriage now 31-0

Voters in Maine have rejected an effort by lawmakers there to impose homosexual "marriage" in that state.

Gay marriage has now lost in every single state -- 31 in all -- in which it has been put to a popular vote. Gay-rights activists had hoped to buck that trend in Maine -- known for its liberal-minded electorate -- and mounted an energetic, well-financed campaign. With 87 percent of the precincts reporting, proponents of traditional marriage had 53 percent of the votes.

"The institution of marriage has been preserved in Maine and across the nation," declared Frank Schubert, chief organizer for the winning side.

(It is funny that even states which are mostly to the left when it comes to politics have rejected same sex marriage. I guess on this issue people are putting things like family, faith, and tradition ahead of politics. Good for them. Read more on this issue  Traditional marriage now 31-0.)

Dem Wins New York House Race...

Democrat Bill Owens has captured the special election for a New York congressional seat that became a fight over the identity of the Republican Party.

Owens defeated Conservative Doug Hoffman and Republican Dierdre Scozzafava (skoh-zuh-FAH'-vuh) in the heavily Republican 23rd congressional District in rural northern New York. Scozzafava abruptly withdrew Saturday and supported Owens. (Dem Wins New York House Race...  )

(Even though this is too bad for us on the right and I believe for America,  still I will take the Democrat winning because the Republican who dropped out was on the left. Why have two different parties if  there is no difference.)

Maine voters reject gay-marriage law...

Cecelia Burnett and Ann Swanson had already set their wedding date. When they joined about 1,000 other gay marriage supporters for an election night party in a Holiday Inn ballroom, they hoped to celebrate the vote that would make it possible.

Instead, they went home at midnight, dejected and near tears after a failed bid to make Maine the first state to approve same-sex marriage at the ballot box.

"I'm ready to start crying," said Burnett, a 58-year-old massage therapist, walking out of the ballroom with Swanson at her side. "I don't understand what the fear is, why people are so afraid of this change.

"It hurts. It hurts personally," she said. "It's a personal rejection of us and our relationship, and I don't understand what the fear is."

(This was not a vote against anyone or about fear. It was a vote about what is best for America and  our culture. I may not agree with the gay life but no one is stopping anyone from having a relationship with another soul if it be a man or a woman. If we allow  same sex marriage what about someone who wants to marry five people, or marry their dog. Read more of the above story  right here.)

REPUBLICAN TAKES VA BY 18%...

Independents who swept Barack Obama to a historic 2008 victory broke big for Republicans on Tuesday as the GOPwrested political control from Democrats in Virginia and New Jersey, a troubling sign for the president and his party heading into an importantmidterm election year.

Conservative Republican Bob McDonnell's victory in the Virginia governor's race over Democrat R. Creigh Deeds and moderate Republican Chris Christie's ouster of unpopular New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine was a double-barreled triumph for a party looking to rebuild after being booted from power in national elections in 2006 and 2008. (REPUBLICAN TAKES VA BY 18%...  )

The outcomes of Virginia and New Jersey were sure to feed discussion about the state of the electorate, the status of the diverse coalition that sent Obama to the White House and the limits of the president's influence — on the party's base of support and on moderate current lawmakers he needs to advance his legislative priorities.

His signature issue of health care reform was dealt a blow hours before polls closed when Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid signaled that Congress may not complete health care legislation this year, missing Obama's deadline and pushing debate into a congressional election year.

(The people have spoken. They have said we don't want government taking over our lives from health care to bail outs. Now the Republicans will have keep their focus on their core values or the voters will put them out of office.)
