At the request of a Christian-founded organization, Australia is considering a
bill to legalize homosexual "marriage."
The bill before the Australian Senate is being pushed by
Amnesty International. Piero Tozzi, executive vice president and general counsel
of the Catholic Family and Human Rights
Institute (C-FAM), tells OneNewsNow that Amnesty International was
originally formed by a Christian mainly to try to free prisoners of conscience
behind the Iron Curtain. However, considering the present situation, Tozzi says
it seems the group's focus has changed.
"I believe it was in 2006,
Amnesty changed its position from neutrality on the abortion issue to favoring
abortion," Tozzi reports. "Now they've really come full-circle, and I think
betrayed the founding principles."
(This group is no longer working for Christian based values. You can't compare the fight for same sex marriage with the fight to free prisoners of conscience behind the Iron Curtain. People were abused, and even killed because of their faith or political views behind the Iron Curtain. All those who I have heard take a stand against same sex marriage have never pushed for those who want same sex marriage to be put in prison or killed because of it.
