According to
the study conducted by Caravan Opinion Research Corporation for the American Red Cross, nearly 40 percent of Americans say it is
more important to make charitable donations, even if that means forgoing a
gift.
The survey questioned 1001 adults, 68 percent of which felt that
one effective way to give more to charity is to ask someone to make a donation
rather than purchasing them a gift. 80 percent said they, themselves would
contribute to humane organizations instead of buying someone a gift if they were
asked to do so.
(This is great that people are putting others first. Too often we see and hear ideas of me first. Read more on this issue right here.)
