A campaign is under way, working toward closing casinos and shutting down the
lottery on Christmas.
Not only are casinos open, but many stores will be selling lottery
tickets on Christmas Day. Les Bernal of Stop Predatory
Gambling is asking the public to help put a stop to the government's hunt
for dollars belonging to American citizens on a day that is meant to convey a
time of peace.
"This is a government program encouraging people to lose their money
and to get more into debt -- and they're kind of preying on people's hopes and
doing it on Christmas Day," he contends. (Calling a halt to Christmas Day
gaming )
( I am not at all for gambling and it would be better if the places which encourage that behavior were closed but I don't know if closing them for one day would help that much. Still it is better when gambling is stopped. Those who take part in gambling need a change in their heart and soul. Lets hope and pray that happens soon.)
