California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger: Health Care Thoughts

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said  on "Good Morning America" that he supports President Obama's health care overhaul effort but warned that the legislation, in its current form, would be devastating to his state's bottom line.

"This is the last thing we need, another $3 billion of spending when we already have a $20 billion deficit," Schwarzenegger said of the costs the bill would impose on California.

"So I would say be very careful to the federal government before you go to bed with all this. Let's rethink it. There's no rush from one second to the next. Let's take another week or two and come up with the right package."

(I am having a hard time understanding the CA. gov.,  Obamacare would  cost his state too much money but he supports it.  Schwarzenegger might have name listed under GOP but he is no  Conservative. Read more on this issue California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger: Rethink Health Care Overhaul .)

Bible is being retranslated for conservative viewpoint

The Gospel of Luke records that as Jesus was dying on the cross, He showed his boundless mercy by praying for his killers this way: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”

Not so fast, say contributors to the Conservative Bible Project.

The project, an online effort to create a Bible suitable for contemporary conservative sensibilities, says Jesus’ quote is a disputed addition abetted by liberal biblical scholars, even though it appears in some form in almost every translation of the Bible.

The project’s authors argue that contemporary scholars have inserted liberal views and historical passages into the Bible, turning Jesus into little more than a well-meaning social worker with a ready supply of watered-down platitudes.

“Professors are the most liberal group of people in the world, and it’s professors who are doing the popular modern translations of the Bible,” said Andy Schlafly, founder of Conservapedia.com, the project’s online home.

(The truth is the Bible is the word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16   says, All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. I am sorry if you are from the left you can't change it. However don't get too happy if you are from the right because you can't change it either. No one should read the Bible to try to justify  their views but instead we should read it to find out what God's will is  and what God thinks of it. Volunteers Help Blind Children Christmas Shop

(Below is an uplifting story that I thought might encourage you during the Christmas - holidays season. )

Nearly 250 of Santa's best helpers roamed the Westroads Mall Sunday, helping visually impaired students shop for holiday gifts.

The Santa's assistants actually were students from 14 area high schools who volunteered for the 49th annual Ruth Sokolof Christmas Shopping Party. The event allows youths with impaired vision to surprise their families with gifts they pick out themselves.

“These visually impaired kids don't get to go out by themselves to shop, so they miss out on the fun of surprising their families,” Karen Sokolof Javitch said. “Today all they need is a list, and our volunteers make sure they get what they came for.”

Ruth Sokolof, who died in 1982, was a teacher for the blind. After her death, her husband, Phil Sokolof, ran the event until he died five years ago. Their daughter now organizes the shopping spree with help from the Nebraska Foundation for Visually Impaired Children and about 300 volunteers.

Woods speaks of family values in interview

Tiger Woods spoke of his commitment to his family during an interview screened in New Zealand on Tuesday that was conducted before his car crash and subsequent admission of several infidelities. (Woods speaks of family values in interview )

Asked in the interview "family first and golf second ... always been that way?" Woods replied: "Always. Always."

He goes on to say that having a family — he has two young children with wife Elin Nordegren — "has been great, actually, the best thing that ever happened."

The interview was conducted on Nov. 17 — 10 days before the accident outside his Florida family home which prompted reports of marital strife. The world's No. 1 golfer later admitted to liaisons with other women.

( I am not sure this interview should have been shown to the public at all. I hope and pray that if Tiger hasn't thought about what he said to this reporter he will. Lets keep praying for him, his wife, and for sure their children. )
