Schools agree to end Bible distribution

Public school officials in Wilson County, Tennessee, have agreed to stop distributing Bibles to students during the school day on school grounds. The settlement comes after the American Civil Liberties Union threatened to sue the district.

The ACLU said in a news release that  students were taken into the gym and they were given Bibles. The students were told they didn't have to take a Bible but one fifth grade student  feared being ostracized. (Schools agree to end Bible distribution  )

(OK perhaps during school time leaders of the school shouldn't encourage kids to take a Bible but look at how students of faith are put down  in theses same schools when them or their parents speak up on so called sex education, or that they believe the homosexual life is wrong. So things that bless wrong actions are OK  in the schools  but not giving out a Bible. Perhaps this is why many children are struggling because they don't know there is a God loves them and has his rules written down. This might also be another reason to remove your children from the government schools. )

(NBA) commissioner David Stern open to gambling.

National Basketball Association (NBA) commissioner David Stern told Sports Illustrated he's open to the idea of gambling.
Les Bernal, executive director for Stop Predatory Gambling, predicts that gambling "will completely corrupt the professional sports system. The idea that you're going to allow individuals to make large sums off of a minor point spread in a basketball game -- I mean, it's open to all kinds of influence," he says.
 
Bernal feels that agreement with Stern's comments will ultimately mean a bad outcome for the NBA and America. "We call it predatory gambling for a reason," he comments. "It's the out-of-control and addictive individual who makes up the base of the money-making scheme for these guys who own these gambling rings."
(Families, kids, and parents have had their lives destroyed thanks to gambling.  Mr. Stern is out to lunch if he allows gambling to take place in the NBA. Read more of the above story NBA gambling would only benefit bookies.)

Another Snow Storm

(That is right we are getting hit with another snow storm. One weather guy that I know of did say that this will be the last snowfall we get for awhile. However we know that the weather people don't create the weather they just try to  predict it. So the schools are closed again and I have a snow day. )

Central Michigan (11-2) vs. Troy (9-3), 6 p.m. (ESPN)
I did some more reading on this bowl game than the others I have picked so that might be a help or a downfall in forecasting this game. I am going to go with Troy,  again don't put the kids or the house on it. Watch the game to see if I was right or was my pick nutty and wrong.

C-SPAN DARE TO DEMS: OPEN HEALTH TALKS!

The head of C-SPAN has implored Congress to open up the last leg of health care reform negotiations to the public, as top Democrats lay plans to hash out the final product among themselves. 

C-SPAN CEO Brian Lamb wrote to leaders in the House and Senate Dec. 30 urging them to open "all important negotiations, including any conference committee meetings," to televised coverage on his network.  ( C-SPAN DARE TO DEMS: OPEN HEALTH TALKS! )

"The C-SPAN networks will commit the necessary resources to covering all of the sessions LIVE and in their entirety," he wrote. 

( I thought this White House was going to be more open than any other White House but now it looks like that was just a lie. What are our leaders thinking the polls show the voters are against what the left is doing with health care. I guess Obama and our leaders in the House and Senate want to keep the American people from finding out more of what is wrong with the health care bills. )

President Obama promised us the American tax payer that the debate on health care would be shown live on TV. Guess what it is not going to be covered  that way. The media is willing to do that but not the leaders from the left who are in charge in Washington D.C. Never mind that it is going to impact us though our leaders aren't going to be covered under the government health care plan. Watch a video of the promise Obama made and broke ,  The C-SPAN Lie?

Stories of the Decade which should not be Forgotten

So what were the top stories of the decade.
Here  are a  few news items that I will not forget.
A.  April 22, 2000:  Armed agents during Holy Week  thanks to  President Bill Clinton and those who worked with him seize Elian Gonzalez. The kid never got his day in court. Watching film of it reminded me of things that Hitler did. It was a dark day  for America. 
B. December 13, 2003: Saddam is found in a spider hole.
C. April 16, 2007: A gunman at Virginia Tech kills 32 and then himself.
D. November 4, 2008: Obama is elected President of the USA. Perhaps the big story here is  how the media help elect him just helped him get elected because they looked more at his politics, and skin color instead of  the  character  of his soul.
E. It takes a ruling from the highest court in the land to elect  Bush  over Gore  as the President of the USA. The whole thing proved some in the left will do whatever they can to get in to office. 
F. President Bush declaring war in Iraq. 
G. The top story had to be the 911 attacks. Something we should never forget and I fear because of the current policies of  the President we now have  we are making another attack very possible.

Iowa (10-2) vs. Georgia Tech (11-2), 7 p.m. (FOX)

This could be the year that Iowa gets a lot of respect after their bowl game, so I wouldn't be shocked if Iowa wins. However I am going to make my  readers who live in Iowa not happy because I am going to pick Tech to win. The key will be Tech's  defense. Again don't put your wife or house  on  up on the game because I am just doing this for fun.

Godly advice to Tiger Woods from Brit Hume

 Fox News pundit Brit Hume gave some Godly advice to Tiger Woods.  Brit encouraged the golfer  turn his back on Buddhism and become a Christian. So he could truly   be forgiven for cheating on his wife.

"The extent to which he can recover seems to me depends on his faith," said Hume. "He is said to be a Buddhist. I don't think that faith offers the kind of redemption and forgiveness offered by the Christian faith.  'Tiger turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world.'" Hume said.

I know he might take some heat for what he said but no matter what faith one has we should never be ashamed of our Lord. Those of us who follow the Christian faith should pray for Tiger  to find Jesus.)
