New Jersey Senate hands Same Sex Marriage Backs another Defeat

Homosexual groups suffered their third straight major setback in the Northeast Thursday when the New Jersey Senate easily defeated a bill that would have legalized "gay marriage," 20-14.

The loss was expected but nevertheless is significant because it comes in a region of the country known for its social liberalism and in an area that "gay marriage" activists view as their stronghold. Of the five states that have redefined marriage, four are in the Northeast.

Just two and a half months ago the bill seemed as if it might be headed for passage but homosexual groups suffered a string of losses on Election Day, the most significant one for the bill being the defeat of Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine, a "gay marriage" supporter. Republican Gov.-elect Chris Christie, who takes office Jan. 19, had pledged to veto it.

Also on Election Day Maine voters reversed a law that had legalized "gay marriage." One month later, New York's Senate stunned observers by easily defeating a "gay marriage" bill, 38-24.

(This is good news and it should show all of us how important elections and voting is even when us who care about family values don't have a friend in the White House. However we must not forget America needs a true change that can only come through God. We must pray for a true spiritual change  to come  that is not started by any political party or can be stopped by one. Read more on this issue New Jersey Senate hands 'gay.)

Holocaust museum shooter James von Brunn dies in custody

The elderly white supremacist charged with killing a security guard at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in June died Wednesday afternoon at a North Carolina hospital, authorities said.

James von Brunn's public defender says he was very sick, and he says this was a sad end to a tragic situation. Stephen Tyrone Johns, 39, was killed in the shootout.  (Von Brunn's Death Shocks Johns Family  )

For a family waiting for justice, the news came as a shock. Johns' mother reacted to the sudden death.

"My first thought was I hope he asked for forgiveness before he passed. I hope he did," said Jacqueline Carter, Johns' Mother in a gentle voice.

She knows the dangers of hate. It's why the news of the death of her son's accused killer brings no joy.

"It would profit me nothing to go around with hatred in my heart. He had it in his, so if I have it in mine, then I am no different," said Carter.

(There is no joy in the death of anyone including a man who did something evil and hated others. Jacqueline Carter showed class in what she said. Lets join her in hoping this man asked  the Lord to forgive him because he has now come face to face with a Jew who is the King of Kings. )

Going against the Kennedy legacy

A Christian leader in Massachusetts says voters in his state will soon decide whether to break their "yoke of bondage" to the Kennedy family dynasty.

On Tuesday, January 19, a special election will be held in Massachusetts to determine who will replace the late Democratic Senator Ted Kennedy, who died in August after serving in the Senate for almost 47 years. ( Going against the Kennedy legacy )

The race later this month pits the Kennedy family's handpicked nominee, Democratic state Attorney General Martha Coakley, against three-term Republican State Senator Scott Brown. Longshot Libertarian candidate Joseph Kennedy is not expected to be a major factor in the race.

Brown says if elected, he will be instrumental in helping Republicans derail Democrats' healthcare bill. A Rasmussen poll shows he only trails Coakley by two percent among likely voters.

Kris Mineau, president of Massachusetts Family Institute, believes Brown has solid conservative credentials

(It would be a blessing and real change in politics if this state elects somebody from the right to replace the late Sen. Kennedy. It would also be a big step in defeating Obamacare. Lets wish him well and if you live in Mass please vote and support , and do what you can to help Brown become the next US. Senator from Mass. I have heard there is good feeling  and the polls are showing that Brown can win. )

Children best served by mom's lesbian relationship?

An official with the Illinois Family Institute (IFI) says it's outrageous that a judge has permitted a mother to take her children from their dad in order to move in with her lesbian partner.

Recently Karen Kelsky, the ex-wife of Taro Iwata, took him to court in a custody battle. Kelsky has become a lesbian and was granted custody of the couple's two children, and will also be allowed to move to Eugene, Oregon -- 1,800 miles away from her ex-husband -- to live with her lesbian partner.

Laurie Higgins with the IFI says the decision is tragic. "It not only doesn't take into account the needs of the children, I don't think it takes into account their right to be deeply and regularly involved with their father," she states. "And that has to be of more importance to their relationship with a lesbian partner of their mother."

(If  we can forget for a second  the debate over the  lesbian issue but think about what is best for the child. That is what this case should be about. This case should not be about the rights of lesbians but what is best for the child. So will it help the child for this mother to take this child away from her dad and force the child to  live with two so called mothers. The judge  and Karen Kelsky should have thought about what is best for the child. It is an outrage that either one of them thought about the child. Read more of the above story  right here.)

Pelosi 'crazy,' 'very confused' on church teachings

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's recent interview with Newsweek Magazine is creating a stir in the pro-life community.

In the article, the California Democrat -- a professed Catholic -- stated some of her concerns about the church's position on homosexuality and abortion, even though those stances are based strictly on the Bible. ( Pelosi 'crazy,' 'very confused' on church teachings )

(Jim Sedlak of the American Life League  has  reminded  us that  one cannot back the right to  abortion and claim to be following the teachings of the Catholic Church.  When it comes to the issue of abortion the Catholic Church is just submitting itself to the Lordship of the Bible. )

Christmas Healthcare; and airport security

May I get something off of my mind tonight. I am tired of the way we are doing airport security in the nation airports

I know the title for this part of my letter might confuse some of you. You might be asking what does Christmas and health care have to do with each other but if you will hold the phone I will explain. Those of you who have been to my blog know I am concerned about how our leaders are trying to force government health down us and use our tax money to pay for things which at least some of us call immoral in the name of health care.

To find out more of my thoughts on the above please watch a video  I posted last night , Christmas and Healthcare; airport security.
