An official with the Illinois Family
Institute (IFI) says it's outrageous that a judge has permitted a mother to
take her children from their dad in order to move in with her lesbian
partner.
Recently Karen Kelsky, the ex-wife of Taro Iwata, took him to
court in a custody battle. Kelsky has become a lesbian and was granted custody
of the couple's two children, and will also be allowed to move to Eugene, Oregon
-- 1,800 miles away from her ex-husband -- to live with her lesbian
partner.
Laurie Higgins with the IFI says the decision is tragic. "It
not only doesn't take into account the needs of the children, I don't think it
takes into account their right to be deeply and regularly involved with their
father," she states. "And that has to be of more importance to their
relationship with a lesbian partner of their mother."
(If we can forget for a second the debate over the lesbian issue but think about what is best for the child. That is what this case should be about. This case should not be about the rights of lesbians but what is best for the child. So will it help the child for this mother to take this child away from her dad and force the child to live with two so called mothers. The judge and Karen Kelsky should have thought about what is best for the child. It is an outrage that either one of them thought about the child. Read more of the above story right here.)
