Mass. Election Thoughts

My posting is late today but I am just sitting here waiting for the results from the Mass. election. If Scott Brown defeats  Martha Coakley we will see the end of Obamacare  even though I am sure the backers of it will do everything to push it through before Brown is seated in the Senate. You also  might even see cases filed in court  saying the election wasn't fair like you did when VP Gore battled Bush for the White House.
I just saw some of the votes from the election Brown is up by 5% of the vote. It is early and too close to call. However if Brown doesn't win still a message should be sent to the White House and that is stop pushing your radical left policies on the American people. Do I expect Obama and his backers to listen to the voters and the American people? Nope it will take defeat after defeat. Still everyone else will see the point. Lets  cross our fingers and hope Scott Brown is the new Senator from Mass. Go Brown!

Warren Watch: Buffett’s sister, Limbaugh differ on health care

Rush Limbaugh has no problems with U.S. medical care, but Warren Buffett’s sister says many people aren’t so lucky.

Doris Buffett, whose Sunshine Lady Foundation gave $10.4 million in contributions in 2008 to a wide range of charities, was interviewed by Davidson College of Charlotte, N.C., one of 15 colleges where she supports classes on philanthropy to give students firsthand experience with the process of making wise donations.

She told the college’s interviewer that among other purposes, her donations go toward education and to groups that help battered women and people who need financial help because of illness.

Limbaugh, a conservative radio talk-show host who opposes the health care legislation being debated in Congress, spent a night in a hospital in Hawaii last month after suffering chest pains. At a press conference Jan. 1 when he was released, he said:

“The treatment I received here was the best that the world has to offer. Based on what happened here to me, I don’t think there’s one thing wrong with the American health care system. It is working just fine, just dandy.”

Doris Buffett said she hopes the philanthropy classes leave students with “the urge to do things for people all their life. Where they see the need, fulfill it. To do something, to be an activist, and social justice. Just helping people who need help.

(OK Buffett  wants everyone to get health care. I would like to challenge her and all those on the left to show me one person who has been denied health care because they couldn't afford it. If we get Obamacare, health care will be denied to people including older people. Yes changes need to be made in health care but just because the baby's bath water is dirty doesn't mean you put the baby in the trash. Ten Commandments display stays

An appeals court decision favoring a Ten Commandments display in Grayson County, Kentucky, will likely not be appealed. (Ten Commandments display stays )

The display -- entitled "Foundations of American Law and Government" and found on the second floor of the county courthouse -- also includes the Magna Carta, the Mayflower Compact, the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, The Star-Spangled Banner and the national motto, among other things. The Sixth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Thursday that it passes constitutional muster.

( I have no problem with the Ten Commandments being displayed in public or in the government schools but those of us who are Bible based followers of Jesus should not forget God gave us them not to make people act good but to show us how we are sinners and need God.)

Dems face 'un-ignorable wake-up call'

A columnist for The Boston Globe predicts that if Republican Senate candidate Scott Brown wins tonight in Massachusetts, President Obama's healthcare legislation in its current form will be defeated.

related video buttonRepublicans and Democrats in Massachusetts are predicting a high turnout today as the battle to succeed the late Senator Edward Kennedy goes down to the wire. Special elections tend to draw relatively few voters, but Democrat Martha Coakley and Republican Scott Brown are locked in a neck-and-neck race in a state that has not elected a Republican senator since 1972.

(To  read more on this issue Dems face 'un-ignorable wake-up call'. In a few hours we could see the end of Obamacare thanks to the good people and voters in Mass. Lets all keep our fingers crossed.)

Tebow to appear in pro-life Super Bowl ad

Former University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow and his mother will appear in a 30-second commercial during the Super Bowl next month. ( Tebow to appear in pro-life Super Bowl ad )

The Christian group Focus on the Family says the Tebows will share a personal story on the theme "Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life."

The group isn't releasing details, but the commercial is likely to be a pro-life message chronicling Pam Tebow's 1987 pregnancy. After getting sick during a mission trip to the Philippines, she ignored a recommendation by doctors to abort her fifth child and gave birth to Tim.

(I know a lot of University of Florida  Gator fans are glad that Tim's mom didn't abort. I can't wait to see this spot.  It just might be another good reason to view the Super Bowl even if your team is not in-it.)

Will 'angry' voters install a Republican senator?

Tomorrow voters in Massachusetts will decide who will succeed the late Democratic Senator Ted Kennedy. Early on in the race, Democratic State Attorney General Martha Coakley was considered a shoo-in for the seat, but Republican State Senator Scott Brown -- a relative unknown six months ago -- has surged to a lead in some polls.
Brian Camenker, director of the conservative activist group MassResistance!, says residents of one of the bluest states in the nation are growing weary of the current legislative activity in Washington. (Will 'angry' voters install a Republican senator?  )

"There's a lot of anger even here in Massachusetts at the whole Obama agenda -- particularly the healthcare situation," he
points out. "A majority of people in the state don't like it; and even a majority of the people in the state don't like Obama anymore, even though he won here by 16 points last November."
(Obama and his backers need to get out of the bed and small what the  voters are thinking and trying to say.)

TOMORROW IS THE DAY! POLL: BROWN UP BY 9 in Mass.

With the clock ticking inexorably towards Tuesday's election and a new poll showing them in a dead heat, Democrat Martha Coakley and Republican Scott Brown are crisscrossing the state today in a last-minute scramble for votes in a race that has drawn national attention.

Coakley, after stops in Newton and Pittsfield, swung into Springfield to rally supporters for one final stop in Western Massachusetts. As she walked into the Teamsters Local 404 hall, they shouted "Martha! Martha! Martha!"

(You never know what will happen in an election  until the votes are added up but what is happening in this one state which most of the time votes towards the left should tell Obama and his backers that what they are doing is not what the American people want.  It is not just health care but  across the board. If this election goes the way most polls are showing we will see the end of Obamacare around Tuesday night. However look for the left to try to push forced government healthcare through before Brown is seated. Again it is not over until the fat lady sings but the polls  are showing a good night could be ahead for us on the right.)

Rating drops below 50% for Nelson

The battle over health care legislation has taken its toll on U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson's political well-being, despite the Democrat's efforts to sell Nebraskans on his vote.

Nelson, who once enjoyed some of the highest job performance marks in the U.S. Senate, has now seen his approval rating dip below 50 percent in Nebraska, according to The World-Herald Poll.

Nelson said the poll results come as no surprise, especially since Nebraskans have been “bombarded” with millions of dollars in “misleading advertisements.”

He said he expects that people will come to appreciate the health care bill.

“I believe that, over time, as the special interest ads subside, Nebraskans will understand the bill I support will improve their health care, because it ends the denial of coverage due to pre-existing conditions, it reduces spiraling costs and it provides new access to coverage for 220,000 Nebraskans without health care today,” Nelson said in a written statement.

(Nelson needs to wake up and stop blaming “misleading advertisements.”  Just by saying that Nelson is putting down the Nebraska voters  and saying we can be fooled. Nelson is trying to outsmart the Nebraska voters but we aren't falling for it. Read more on this issue Rating drops below 50% for Nelson.)
