In case you missed it, a few weeks ago Pat Robertson head of CBN said this
on the 700 Club:
PAT ROBERTSON: "Something happened a long time ago in
Haiti, and people might not want to talk about it. They were under the heel of
the French. You know, Napoleon III and whatever. And they got together and swore
a pact to the devil. They said, "We will serve you if you will get us free from
the French." True story. And so, the devil said, "OK, it's a deal."
(No matter if Rev. Pat meant it or not he seem to be saying what happen in Haiti was a judgement of God. Does God judge nations? Yes the Bible tells us he does. However the goal of every follower of Jesus should be to help those in need by showing them the grace and love of Jesus. My Pastor said the following last Sunday before my church took up an offering to help a ministry which is doing good work to help those in Haiti. "Pat Robertson doesn't speak for every Evangelical Christian. He doesn't speak for this one. Pat Robertson needs to be rebuked." Amen Pastor Don. He doesn't speak for this Evangelical Christian either and I know there are many others who he doesn't speak for. As wrong as Robertson was about Haiti he is also hurting us who follow Jesus and are submitted to the Lordship of his word- the Bible. Even more hurtful is what people are seeing and thinking of the gospel thanks to what Rev. Robertson said about Haiti. I hope he will repent. In the mean time please know Mr. Robertson doesn't speak for all Evangelical Christians.
