(You may recall during the State of the Union Address President Obama gave it to Judges on the current Supreme Court. Never mind that Obama had his so called facts wrong but I was troubled that the Judges were expected to just sit in their seats while Democrats all around them jumped up from their seats in support of Obama and his wrong facts. )
In his State of the Union address earlier this year, President Barack Obama
criticized the Supreme Court for a recent ruling striking down regulations
limiting corporate contributions in elections. Obama’s condemnation brought many
members of Congress to their feet, a moment Roberts said was of concern to
him.
“The image of having the members of one branch of government standing up,
literally surrounding the Supreme Court, cheering and hollering while the court
— according the requirements of protocol — has to sit there expressionless, I
think is very troubling.”
(That is one of the reasons I posted on this blog that I supported Justice Samuel Alito who appears to mouth the words not true when Obama gave his speech.
How much longer should these judges be expected to go and just stay in their seats during what has become a political speech. Yesterday the Chief Justice (

Speaks Out ) seem to be saying the same thing. I think it would be nice if next year and until Obama leaves office that we find very few if any of the high court justices at the State of the Union Address. )
