A Christian mother and author has written an
open letter to
the parents of Miley Cyrus about the career path the young star is on.
Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, are evangelical Christians who say they have raised
their daughter with biblical values and principles. But the teenage superstar's
latest music video for the song "Can't Be Tamed" -- which features the young
singer in a black leotard with birdlike accessories -- has raised some
eyebrows. (
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus.... )
Dannah Gresh, along with her husband Bob, founded
PureFreedom.org, a ministry
that promotes and encourages sexual purity until marriage. She has written an
open letter on her blog to Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus.
"I've been very
positive up until this point. I've tried to say everything I can that's good,
because there are a lot of great things that Billy Ray and Tish have planted
into their daughter," Gresh notes. "In many ways, she is a good role model. But
when she makes a video as sexual as this, and then is interviewed after it and
says, 'This is just the next step of growing up. My fans have grown up with me,
and this is the next step,'" the ministry founder thinks something should be
done.
( Billy>>> As I posted a few days ago Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus need not forget they are still in charge even though one of their children is a star. She might still need the wooden spoon or some tough love. That would be good for her and her young fans. Good parents shouldn't always say yes and that includes the parents of a star.)
