Student Wins Battle of the Pledge — But Did He Lose the War?

Here is some news about a kid who went to fight for the right to say the pledge to the American flag. Good for this kid. We need more young people like him. It is too bad that the leaders of his school don't love America like he does. That is truly sad. Read more about what this kid did .(Student Wins Battle of the Pledge — But Did He Lose the War?)

Crossing guard beat middle school student and Discipline in the Schools

An off-duty crossing guard for Drexel Middle School was arrested last Thursday for allegedly beating a 14-year-old boy who taunted him during the school year.

Gerald Kelly, 60, of the 300-block of Shadeland Avenue in Drexel Hill was arrested June 24 after he assaulted the young teen outside a pharmacy after school hours, police say.

“This was a get-even attack,” police Superintendent Michael Chitwood told the Delaware County Times. “It was certainly inappropriate behavior.”

(Billy's Thoughts>> Let me make it clear up front what this adult did was 100% wrong. Those who work in the schools should not try to get even with kids who are rude to them. That said  there was a day when this young man would have been paddled for what he said at school and then at home for it. This assault was wrong but in another way this kid needs to respect adults. Again I am not blessing what the adult did just bringing up another issue far as how  some youth treat adults. What do you think am I out to lunch or do you see my point. School: Media to blame for misunderstanding over Condom Policy

The superintendent of a Massachusetts school district is apologizing to parents for what she is  calling  a misunderstanding over a condom availability policy.

Superintendent Beth Singer said in the letter e-mailed yesterday  that the district will clarify that elementary school-age students won't be able to get a condom if they request one from the school nurse.

The Cape Cod Times reports that Singer wrote it because it  became necessary to revise the wording after it was "so badly understood and misrepresented by the media."

So lets blame the media. How about the  leaders of the school admitting they made a mistake  and while we are at it  how about taking all condoms out of the school. I know I am dreaming because while the left is running  this school district that will never happen boy oh boy do I miss the olden days.  Read more on this issue School: Media to blame for misunderstanding.

Grad's grievance goes to higher court

Renee Griffith was co-valedictorian in 2008 at Butte High School, so she and the other honoree were asked to speak together about the lessons they learned in high school. Griffith wanted to express that standing up for her religious convictions taught her to persevere and not fear, but school officials gave her an ultimatum: replace the references to God with more neutral phrases, or be forbidden to speak at all at graduation.  (  Grad's grievance goes to higher court )

In response to the incident, The Rutherford Institute filed a suit in district court on behalf of Griffith, but the court ruled in favor of school officials.

(Billy's Thoughts>> This young lady is now taking her case to the Supreme Court. Lets all hope freedom of speech wins in her case. I am still amazed at how fearful the government schools are of God and faith that  they will do everything they can to stop a student from   speaking kindly of  God -of course I bet if we were talking about the god of some other faith instead of the Christian God there would be no issues far as the school goes. )

Kagan revealing extreme view on abortion

During the  confirmation hearings on Capitol Hill,  for Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan, she has been misleading on the abortion issue -- that is according to  Americans United for Life.

AUL attorney Anna Franzonello told  OneNewsNow that Kagan's view of abortion is contrary to the view of a majority of Americans who do see the need for some limits on abortion.

"She essentially confirmed her belief [in] Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton -- the cases from 1973 that essentially constitutionalized this 'right' to abortion -- with an expansive no regulations allowed," says Franzonello.

Kagan told senators that any state regulation on abortion must have a broad health exception -- but the pro-life attorney makes the  point that that is contrary to a previous Supreme Court decision.

Anna Franzonello (AUL)"That ignores the fact [of] the current state of the law -- the current Supreme Court precedent in Gonzales v. Carhart, which upheld the partial-birth abortion ban of 2003 without a health exception," she explains. "That's the law."

Kagan is going to be radical on the court and it looks like will allow babies to be killed for any reason up to the time of birth but we should not be shocked after all look at who has  named her to the high court. This should show us or remind us it does matter who wins elections. We would be one step closer to seeing the  Row vs. Wade decision changed if  McCain was now our President. The lesson is knowing who you are voting for and vote for the right person. You can read more on this issue Kagan revealing extreme view on abortion.

Wis. Supreme Court upholds 'gay marriage' ban

The Wisconsin Supreme Court has upheld the state's constitutional ban on same-sex "marriage" and civil unions.

In a 7-0 ruling, the court on Wednesday ruled that the 2006 constitutional amendment was properly put to voters in a statewide referendum.

The court rejected a lawsuit that claimed the amendment violated a rule that limits referendum questions to a single subject.

(Billy's Thoughts>>> This is good news. It is nice to see a court agree with the law and the will of the majority of Americans on this issue. Read more about this news item Wis. Supreme Court upholds 'gay marriage' ban.)

Kagan embraces notion of living Constitution

Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan is calling the Constitution a living document, saying its framers wrote it to last through ever-changing circumstances. ( Kagan embraces notion of living Constitution  )

(Billy's Thoughts>>> This says to me she feels  the Constitution needs to keep being updated and changed.  She will try to make laws from the bench which isn't the job of a judge. This is the kind of judge we are about to get. Thanks to those who voted for Obama and those who stayed home last election. )

Judge Kagan in the Hot Seat

Declines To Say: Gov't Can't Tell Americans What To Eat...

(Billy's Thoughts>>> So she won't  say if  Uncle Sam  should tell us what to eat her no answer she tell us the  answer in her heart and the kind of judge she will be.)

CHRISTIAN MISSIONARIES WERE ARRESTED For WITNESS TO MUSLIMS

THE DETROIT FREE PRESS REPORTS THAT FOUR CHRISTIAN MISSIONARIES WERE ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTING TO WITNESS TO MUSLIMS. THEY WERE JAILED AND CHARGED WITH DISORDERLY CONDUCT. THE FOUR ARE PART OF A CHRISTIAN GROUP CALLED “ACTS 17 APOPLOGETICS.” THEY WERE RELEASED ON BAIL.
IS THIS AMERICA, OR SAUDI ARABIA? WHATEVER HAPPENED TO FREEDOM OF SPEECH? THIS IS THE FUTURE IF WE SUBMIT TO ISLAMIC THUGS AND ISLAMIC LAW.
(Billy's Thoughts>> The above is part of a radio commentary Cal Thomas did. Good question Cal and good point. If we keep giving rights to followers of radical Islam and taking rights away from  Christians we as a nation are headed down the wrong road.  You can read the whole commentary CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY JUNE 28, 2010 or you can listen to the audio.)

PayPal not much of a pal to Islam critics

Two Islam watchdogs have terminated their relationships with a secure payment website after it tried to intimidate them for telling the truth about Islam. (PayPal not much of a pal to Islam critics  )

Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer were using PayPal to collect secure donations for their websites, including Stop Islamization of America, the Freedom Defense Initiative ,and Geller's blog Atlas Shrugs. But PayPal began to restrict donators' ability to give to those websites because it apparently objected to the sites' content. Spencer reports that that did not sit well with readers of Atlas Shrugs.

Robert Spencer"The readers started to write in to PayPal and canceled their accounts.

(Billy Thought's>> I wonder if this website would defend Christians if somebody was talking about them, don't hold your breath.)

New abortion law challenge

Planned Parenthood  in the State of Nebraska  filed  a  lawsuit yesterday  to keep Legislative Bill 594 from taking effect as scheduled July 15.

The law, passed this spring,  will require  doctors to perform extensive screenings of women seeking abortions in  the state.

Planned Parenthood claims the law is unconstitutional because it imposes requirements on doctors that are impossible to meet.

“It is a very onerous act that in fact obstructs access to abortion at all states of pregnancy,” said Jill June, the president and CEO of the Des Moines-based organization.

Under the law, doctors would have to assess women for any indication that they feel pressured to have an abortion, as well as for risk factors that could predispose them to mental or physical complications.

What is wrong in making sure the lady who wants to have her baby killed is not being  pressured to have  the act done. Well of course this law would stop abortion doctors and groups like Planned Parenthood from doing what they  make big bucks doing. You see those do abortions aren't doing it out of the goodness of their hearts. If you like you can read more about this issue New abortion law challenged.
