Robert Carlyle Byrd, the longest-serving member of Congress in United States
history, who spent much of his career as a conservative Democrat and ended it by
fiercely opposing the war in Iraq and questioning the state's powerful coal
industry, died Monday. He was 92.

"I am saddened that the family of U.S. Senator Robert C. Byrd, D-W.Va.,
tearfully announces the passing" of the senator, Jesse Jacobs, Byrd's press
spokesman, said in a statement.
Byrd died at 3 a.m. at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va., according
to the statement.
(Billy's Thoughts>>> No matter what your politics is all of our hearts, thoughts, and prayers should be today with the Byrd family. When I first heard that Sen. Byrd was ill. I prayed that God would touch his body and if he did not know the love of Jesus he would embrace that truth. That should should of been the attitude of everyone on the right and everyone in the GOP in fact that should have been the attitude of everyone. You can read more of the above story Sen.
