A new national Lutheran body is being formed in Columbus, Ohio, due to
disagreements within the ELCA.
More than 1,000 Lutherans disenchanted with the more liberal
Evangelic Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) are holding what will be the formal
establishment of a conservative Lutheran denomination.
"We began our
Lutheran court convocation, where we'll make some changes to our constitution
and elect our officers, and then also help with the formation of a new Lutheran
church in North America called the North American Lutheran Church," explains
Pastor Mark Chaves of Lutheran CORE, who is serving as director. (Changes in store for conservative
Lutherans )
(Billy's Thoughts>>> It looks like good might come out of a church which has left God and his word. Good for those who are starting this new church. )
