A recent survey suggests two-thirds of people see a connection between the
message of the church and suicide among homosexual youth.
Regardless of their own religious views, a majority of those
polled think places of worship are doing a good job handling the issue of
homosexuality. Forty-three percent, however, say churches are contributing
negative messages that are adding to the number of suicides among homosexual
youth. (Correlation vs.
causation)
But Alan Wisdom, vice president of The Institute on Religion & Democracy (IRD), points out
that the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI), the organization that
conducted the poll, "is a group that is set up to advance liberal causes in the
church and in politics."
(Billy's Thoughts>>> No matter what people think the church must keep calling sin sin. At the same time we must love and show those caught in sin a way out which of course is through the cross of Jesus.)
