Juli Slattery of
Focus on the
Family tells OneNewsNow there are a couple of ways to look at what takes
place on Black Friday.
"I think, at one level, it's really sad that the
day after we eat and really focus on how thankful we are for all the things that
we have, sometimes even that evening at midnight, starts this shopping frenzy
of all the things that we want," she laments. "And I think it's kind of ironic
that, in our society, we kind of have those two things
back-to-back." (

'Black Friday')

Having said that, Slattery believes Black Friday presents some great
deals that families can take advantage of, and she understands that many will
use the day to do their Christmas shopping.
"There's nothing wrong with
that, but what we always have to be challenged with is what's the attitude of
our heart," the Christian psychologist explains.
(Billy's Thoughts>>> We should look at all things the way God looks at it. There is nothing wrong with getting good deals at the stores but if our focus is to buy the love of others through a gift from a store we are missing the boat. )
