Planned Parenthood feeds at 'federal trough'

Planned Parenthood received a banner $363.2 million in government funding during the 2008-2009 fiscal year, its most recent annual reporting period -- a $13.6-million increase in grants and contracts over the previous fiscal year. That funding is supposedly funneled into "reproductive health care" services and is not used directly for abortion procedures.

But Mark Crutcher of Life Dynamics argues U.S. taxpayers should not be financing the organization to begin with. "The idea that we're giving these people approximately $42,000 an hour, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year -- this is a cash cow for these people," he laments. "They're lined up at the federal trough." (Planned Parenthood feeds at 'federal trough')

(Billy's Thoughts>>> Today our government is having all kinds of trouble when it comes to taxes and spending yet we tax payers are being made to pay for a group that many of us think are doing sinful things. )

Dancing with Max: A Story That Must Be Told

Around Christmas time I finished reading the book Dancing with Max: A Story That Must Be Told. The book is written by Chuck Colson's daughter
Emily, and it is a book about her experiences dealing with a son who has autism.  The book details how her greatest trial became her greatest blessing.
I encourage all of you to get a copy and read it even if you don't agree with all of Chuck Colson's politics.

House Republicans plan assault on Obamacare

The new Republican-controlled House plans to schedule a vote to repeal the sweeping health care overhaul before President Barack Obama delivers his annual State of the Union address late this month, incoming House Energy and Commerce Chairman Fred Upton (R-Mich.) said Sunday.

“We have 242 Republicans,” he said on “Fox News Sunday.” He added, “There will be a significant number of Democrats, I think, that will join us. You will remember when that vote passed in the House last March, it only passed by seven votes.”

Upton, whose committee will play a key role in the GOP's effort to roll back the law, said that he believes the House may be near the two-thirds majority required to override a presidential veto. (Listen ) (House Republicans plan assault on Obamacare...
