A Wisconsin pro-family group thinks Governor Scott Walker's (R) signing into law
a bill that creates the largest expansion of school-choice programs will
strengthen the state.
The expansion was included in the state's budget bill for 2011 through 2013.
It increases the income eligibility for the program, and it removes the cap on
the number of participants.
"Our budget that the governor just signed
this past Sunday is definitely a major step forward to strengthen the
independence of the family unit," notes Julaine Appling of the Wisconsin Family Council. "And when that happens, when our
families are strong and independent of government, the state is strong."
( School choice = independent
families = strong state )
