WH threatens state over Planned Parenthood funding

The Obama administration is demanding that New Hampshire restore funding to Planned Parenthood.

New HampshireCurt Wuelper of New Hampshire Right to Life finds it difficult to understand why the administration is trying to protect Planned Parenthood. He says what the state's executive council decided was simply to take its money elsewhere.

"They funded ten other health centers to do the same services that Planned Parenthood does. The only one they didn't fund was Planned Parenthood," notes Wuelper. (WH threatens state over Planned Parenthood funding )

(Billy's Thoughts>>>> Why is Obama  fighting a state that has decided to use the tax payers money some place else. Instead of fighting this state Obama should follow their example and remove all funding from P.P. He keeps telling us the government doesn't have the money to mail the checks out to older Americans well this might help the government be able to do that. I guess this is showing Obama's true colors and that is he is a radical from the left who has never opposed a single abortion.

Case against Perry, 'Response' dismissed

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed to block Texas Governor Rick Perry from having a role in an upcoming prayer event in Houston.

U.S. District Judge Gray H. Miller on Thursday afternoon ruled that the group of atheists and agnostics that filed the suit, the Freedom From Religion Foundation, did not have standing to sue. The plaintiffs argued that Perry's day of prayer and fasting would violate the Constitution. The event, called The Response, is scheduled for August 6.(Case against Perry, 'Response' dismissed)

(Billy's Thoughts>>>> Thank God for a judge that thinks and knows our courts have more  important things than  to take time with a case filed by some souls who not only  have a problem with God but want to keep others from praying. I guess these folks don't know prayer  is still legal in America and very powerful in heaven. May they be shown that there is a God who gave his life for them.)

Breaking News: Conservative Group Drops Opposition to Boehner Plan...

The well-funded, fiscally conservative Club for Growth will not go after Republican House members for backing House Speaker John Boehner's (R-Ohio) plan to pass a balanced-budget amendment and short-term debt-limit increase, the group announced Friday afternoon. Dark Day for Tea Party and Why they Are Wrong

I have supported the Tea Party and believe they have done a lot of good for America. However  events of the last 24 hours is making me question that party.  It looks to me like people on right who were willing to go along with the speaker's bill  like Laura Ingraham and a  number of members of the house who  were willing to  vote for  it last night      are now being called not really  right people by the  likes of  Sarah Palin. This bill by the way isn't liked by Obama or the leading Democrats which should be reason enough to support it. Do I want more  of course but we have to take what we can get  not only for the sake of the GOP but also and more importantly for the sake of the nation. Shame on those in the tea party who are questioning leaders of the right if they are really on the right.

LET'S VOTE

House Republicans will link passage of a balanced-budget amendment to Speaker John Boehner’s (R-Ohio) last-ditch debt-ceiling plan, which GOP lawmakers said would move the measure to passage in a high-stakes vote later on Friday.

Republican lawmakers voiced confidence the enhanced bill would pass muster with conservatives, as Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) predicted the balanced-budget amendment change would bring 10 to 20 more GOP members on board.

Rep. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), a key holdout, and a Senate candidate, quickly took to Twitter after the meeting to say that he was a yes vote. The conservative Club for Growth also offered a tentative endorsement. (LET'S VOTE )

Evangelical leader John Stott dies at 90

The Rev. John Stott, one of the most influential evangelical thinkers of the 20th Century, has died in London at the age of 90.

The Rev. Billy Graham released a statement saying, "The evangelical world has lost one of its greatest spokesmen, and I have lost one of my close personal friends and advisors." Graham and Stott were framers of the 1974 Lausanne Covenant, which helped define modern evangelicalism. (Evangelical leader John Stott dies at 90 )

Cain apologizes after meeting with Muslim leaders

Republican Herman Cain is apologizing to Muslim leaders for remarks he made about Islam while campaigning for the presidential nomination. (Cain apologizes after meeting with Muslim leaders )

The former Godfather's Pizza CEO has said communities have a right to ban Islamic mosques because Muslims are trying to inject sharia law into the U.S. He's also said he would not want a Muslim bent on killing Americans in his administration. (See earlier story)

(Billy's Thoughts>>> Why is it our leaders and those who want to lead us are so worried about upsetting followers of Islam. They aren't concern with  the feelings of followers of Jesus in their nations.)

No. 1 killer of blacks exposed

The national African-American pro-life coalition has released part two of a powerful three-part video series on abortion that creators hope will impact everyone who watches.

Ryan Bomberger heads The Radiance Foundation and is a co-founder of the National Black ProLife Coalition. He points to the fact that more than one-third of the abortions in America kill black babies in the womb. The video series is part of the "Numbers Don't Lie" campaign.

"The newest video is entitled 'Number 1 Killer,' and it's showing how the number of abortions in the black community outnumber the sum of all other causes of death combined," Bomberger reports. "It also ... calls out certain black leaders who have basically turned on their own constituency by embracing abortion and Planned Parenthood."

Atheists cross about a special cross

In response to a lawsuit filed by an atheist group, a Christian law firm says it's filing a "friend of the court" brief backing the plWorld Trade Center crossacement of a cross at the museum commemorating the events of 9-11.

The American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ) is filing the amicus brief in support of the World Trade Center Memorial & Museum in New York City. It wants to incorporate the 17-foot-tall "WTC cross," which consists of two intersecting steel beams that held up when the Twin Towers collapsed on September 11, 2001, as part of a memorial of what happened that fateful day. Amy Winehouse Died from Alcohol

Amy Winehouse's struggles to quit drugs were well documented. But her family fears that sudden abstinence from alcohol might have been what led to her death last Saturday at age 27, according to a report.

Winehouse ignored doctors' advice to step back gradually from her heavy drinking and went cold turkey in the past month, an unnamed family friend tells Britain's Sun. Her family believes that was too much of a shock to her system, the source adds. (  Amy Winehouse's Death: From Alcohol Withdrawal? : People.com )

(Billy's Thoughts>>> This whole story is sad and should be a lesson to young people to not use drugs and to not to join the drinking crowd because it is easy to start drinking or using  drugs but it is very hard to quit.)

I Support John Boehner 's Plan: Why

A bill to cut the deficit faced a nail-bitingly close vote in Congress on Thursday as the top Republican lawmaker sought to quell an internal revolt and push his plan to avoid a ruinous default.

Approval of a plan by House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner would break the inertia in Washington over a debt crisis that has spooked markets and raised the prospect that the government of the world's largest economy will run out of money to pay its bills in less than a week.

President Barack Obama has threatened to veto the bill and a majority of the Democratic-controlled Senate has vowed to vote against it.

But a successful vote in the House would give the bill legitimacy and make it a crucial element of the legislative chess game that is likely to play out up to August 2. (CLOSE VOTE)

(Billy's Thoughts>>> I have mixed feelings on this plan but the one thing which is helping me to support it is Obama has said he doesn't like it and  might veto  it. Those of you who are part of the Tea Party don't forget we have to take what we can get. We also need to keep our eyes on the big prize.  If this plan is defeated  it might help Obama gain support which we mean all the gains made in the last election would be for nothing. So I say lets support this. )

Norway PM promises security review after killings | Reuters

Norway's prime minister on Wednesday promised a security review after a mourning period for at least 76 people killed by a far-right extremist in bombing and shooting attacks that have traumatized the nation.

Jittery Norwegians tried to restore some normality five days after the bloodshed, despite a security alert forcing the evacuation of Oslo station, keeping nerves on edge. (Norway PM promises security review after killings)

(Billy's Thoughts>>> Please pray for the people of Norway. Pray this horrible event might be used to draw the people of that nation to the things of God.)
