Dr. Jeremiah 'impressed' by Perry But

While a pastor and bestselling author is "impressed" with Texas Governor Rick Perry, he believes the presidential candidate needs to answer some questions about his reported involvement with an Islamic organization.

Dr. David Jeremiah, senior pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church of El Cajon, California, and author of the soon to be released book, I Never Thought I'd See the Day!: Culture at the Crossroads, recognizes that he and the Texas governor see eye-to-eye for the most part. However, he believes Governor Perry has some explaining to do.

the pastor points out that Perry needs to respond to a recent report about his involvement with the Aga Khan Foundation, which developed a curriculum for the Texas public schools that whitewashes the negative aspects of Islam. (See earlier story)

The Pledge minus two words

During a segment of The Roger Hedgecock ShowFlashReport publisher Jon Fleischman told listeners that two members of the California legislature recently chose to remove the phrase "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance. The Bay Area Democrats removed the phrase when they were asked to lead the lawmakers in the Pledge.

"Nancy Skinner, who, of course, hails from Berkeley, California -- or, as we like to call it, 'Berzerkeley' because that's the Christopher Columbus myth-free zone," Fleischman reports. "That's how much they love America over there in Berkeley... on the Bay. And then, the other legislator was Tom Ammiano."

(The Pledge minus two words)

Jon Fleischman (FlashReport)
The latter, a homosexual assemblyman, has been dubbed one of the most liberal lawmakers in the state legislature.

"Tom [Ammiano] hails from downtown San Francisco, and he makes Nancy Pelosi look like a conservative .
(Billy's Thoughts>>. I like what late President Reagan once said if we ever forget we are one nation under God we will be a nation gone under.)

Bachmann Please Back Away from the HPV Issue

GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann was on the offensive in Monday night's debate when she suggested rival Rick Perry's controversial vaccination order in Texas was payback to a campaign contributor.

GOP candidates convened in Tampa, Florida, Monday night for the fourth in a series of presidential debates. The nationally televised debate on CNN made history as the first-of-its-kind event featured discussion of issues central to the tea party movement.

(Bachmann, Perry spar in Tampa)

Tea party groups from 31 states and Washington, DC, asked questions directed at the candidates. CNN's Wolf Blitzer moderated the event with the Tea Party Express as its co-sponsor.

Associated Press video buttonSome commentators believe Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann (R-Minnesota), the queen of the tea party and founder of the House Tea Party Caucus, needed a breakout debate to keep her campaign alive. Bachmann came out swinging at Texas Governor Rick Perry who several years ago ordered young girls to be vaccinated against HPV (human papillomavirus) with Gardasil, a Merck & Co. product.

Bachmann: "The question is, is it about life -- or was it about millions of dollars and potentially billions for a drug company?"

Perry: "It was a $5,000 contribution that I had received from them [Merck]. I raised about $30 million -- and if you're saying that I can be bought for $5,000, I'm offended."

Bachmann: "I'm offended for all the little girls and the parents who didn't have a choice. That's what I'm offended for.

(Billy's Thoughts>>> I have liked  Backmann  at the start of this race but Perry has admitted he did wrong by ordering young girls to get the HPV. I  believe all people can change including those who lead us and if the Gov. of Texas admits he was wrong and he did not just change to get votes we should forgive him and it shouldn't be an issue. So Bachmann please back away from this issue.

The Answer to Worry 9-11-11 Teaching

Yesterday I posted  a teaching on my other blog on  how to handle worry. It was fitting since ten years ago yesterday  the evil 911 attacks took place. I would encourage you or if anyone you know has had a battle with worry to listen to the short teaching I did.

‘Captain Jihad’: Ex-Terrorist Transformed Into Comic Book Hero

The real life adventures of former al-Qaida-linked militant Nasir Abas have become a new comic book in Indonesia, chronicling his transformation from foe to invaluable ally in the fight against terrorism.

The story of the soft-spoken, seemingly mild-mannered 42-year-old — recognized by strangers on the streets and even asked for the occasional autograph — is well-known in the world’s most populous Muslim country.

He went from helping train Muslim extremists who carried out some of Southeast Asia’s deadliest attacks, including the 2002 Bali bombings, to informing police about the inner-workings of the Jemaah Islamiyah network.

Court sides with lesbian 'parent'

The Nebraska Supreme Court has granted child custody rights to the former lesbian partner of a biological mother.

Susan Schwerdtfeger broke up with her lesbian partner five years after the birth of her son through in vitro fertilization. She told the court that her former partner did not pay to help support the youngster -- while Teri Latham, the former partner, sought visitation rights because she shared in the cost of the IVF procedure and had tried to visit the child since the breakup.

Nebraska's highest court ruled in late August that if Latham acted as co-parent during the relationship, she should have custody rights.

Matt Barber of Liberty Counsel Action tells OneNewsNow the case proves that the federal Defense of Marriage Act is of vital importance to fairness for all involved.

The intolerance of the tolerance preachers

The Washington National Cathedral, in its commemoration of the 10th anniversary of 9/11, has deliberately and carefully excluded evangelicals from their multi-religious commemoration. The service includes Buddhists, Hindus, and Muslims, but not evangelical Christians. Mind you, I am opposed to interfaith services in any shape or form and that is why, in a previous blog, I stated that I was relieved that the mayor of New York spared us the agony of watching the One, True God of the Bible “worshipped” alongside false gods.

National Cathedral (Washington, DC)The National Cathedral is a member of the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation. Having served as an Episcopal priest in the past for a number of years, the fact that they have excluded evangelicals from their service did not come as a surprise to me at all. Twenty-five years ago, I was one of only a few evangelicals left in that denomination and some of my colleagues labeled me as “narrow-minded” and “intolerant.”  What was my sin? I took Jesus at His word and believed that He and He alone -- by dying on the cross and rising again -- is the only way to the Father and eternal life in Heaven for all people of all races and religions.

(The intolerance of the tolerance preachers)

For believing Jesus’ own claim that He is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6), I was called “intolerant.” Never mind over 500 years of Anglican history that proclaimed these truths and enshrined them in its Thirty-Nine Articles of Faith. Never mind the many Anglican martyrs who have died defending this truth.
I remember asking the question once, “If you are so eager to preach the gospel of tolerance, how about tolerating me as a Bible-believing Anglican?” A senior clergyman who I was very fond of whispered in my ear in jest, “We use intolerance to shut up people like you so that we can get our agenda through.” I remember thanking him for his honesty.
(Billy's Thoughts>>> The above is part of  column/blog post written by  Michael Youssef, Ph.D:   Youssef is right now. Too many don't have tolerance for us who believe the Bible and sadly that is even taking place in some churches.)

New York Mayor Taking Easy Way Out

A pastor and bestselling author believes New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg is taking the easy way out in choosing to ban all religions from Sunday's tenth anniversary commemoration for those who died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Dr. David Jeremiah is senior pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon, California, and author of the soon-to-be-released book, I Never Thought I'd See the Day!: Culture at the Crossroads. He thinks the mayor is taking the easy way out.

"I think Bloomberg is just really upset over the reaction he got when he supported the building of a mosque close to the place where the [9/11] monument is going to be, and he just got beat up over that so bad he just decided, I'm just going to make sure nobody comes," the pastor suggests.
