Don't Show the Pictures to Kids but Abortion is Cool

Some conservative Californians are concerned that new legislation signed by the state's governor will quench the voice of pro-life activists.

Governor Jerry Brown recently signed into law a measure that cracks down on individuals who create a disturbance near schools in the state. The measure was proposed by Assemblyman Tony Mendoza, who penned it in response to a 2003 incident at a middle school in Rancho Palos Verdes when a car displaying images of an aborted fetus drove by the middle school. (

(Protecting students ... or silencing Christians?)

(Billy's Thoughts>>> Isn't it funny how some people don't want children to see horrible pictures of babies who have been murdered in our nation but  have no problem letting abortion on demand be the law of the land.)

Kerry: Conservatives don't deserve media's time

A conservative media watchdog organization finds it outrageous that Senator John Kerry recently called for censorship of the tea party movement. (

(Kerry: Conservatives don't deserve media's time)

The Media Research Center (MRC) says the Massachusetts Democrat took several swipes at conservatives, blaming the tea party for the nation's Standard & Poor downgrade, and he argued on MSNBC that the media should not give credence to the tea party's ideas.

"The media has got to begin to not give equal time or equal balance to an absolutely absurd notion," Kerry stated. "Just because somebody asserts it, or simply because somebody says something which everybody knows is not factual, it doesn't deserve the same credit as a legitimate idea about what you do."

(Billy's Thoughts>>> Mr. Kerry I thought this was America not Cuba!)

Coulter -- 'queen of fabulous' for gay conservatives

A pro-homosexual faction within the Republican Party is touting the appointment of an outspoken conservative writer to its panel of advisors.

(Coulter -- 'queen of fabulous' for gay conservatives)

Columnist Ann CoulterGOProud says conservative columnist Ann Coulter will carry the title of "Honorary Chair and Gay Icon" of its Advisory Council. Saying Coulter "helped put our organization on the map," GOProud chairman Christopher Barron boasts: "Politics is full of the meek, the compromising, and the apologists -- Ann, like GOProud, is the exact opposite of all of those things."

Matt Barber of Liberty Counsel Action tells OneNewsNow that he has had a good deal of respect for Coulter in the past. "[But] unfortunately I think she really is putting herself in a position here where she could marginalize herself and do damage to her conservative credentials, if you will," he offers.

(Billy's Thoughts>>> It looks to me like Ann is putting politics ahead of principal. Ann has done many good things for us on the right but this move will hurt her. Those of us on the right must never forget our principals regardless of the cost.)

UK Kids Behavior

David Cameron today gave the go-ahead for police to use water cannons on rioters after children as young as nine looted stores and made off with bottles of wine and vodka in fresh violence that flared around the UK yesterday.

The children wore tracksuits and unlike hardened older thugs they innocently disregarded covering their faces as they ran through the shattered glass of supermarkets to fill their pockets with looted goods.  ( Looters as young as 9 years old run wild...)

But today, the police were given the green light to use water cannons with 24 hours' notice. The Prime Minister said that plans had been put in place to deal with the disorder using water cannons - making it the first time they would be used on the streets of mainland Britain

(Billy's Thoughts>>> Perhaps our friends in the UK need to bring back floggings or public paddling. Also parents in the UK might start taking their children to the woodshed. At the same time with the breakdown  down of family values, the breakdown of the home
is it any wonder these young people are doing these things. These young people need to be told and shown there are things that are 100% right and things that are 100% wrong. Above all they need to be told and shown there is a God who loves them  and wants to help them do right

My Doctor Rejects Birth Control and So Should Our Tax Money

The Supreme Court decided decades ago that access to birth control is a constitutional right. Now, the Obama administration’s Department of Health and Human Services has decided that access to “free” birth control is a right, too. Under new HHS regulations, which the department is authorized to create under Obamacare, insurance plans will be required to cover birth control — including the morning-after pill “ella,” which seems to work as an abortifacient in some cases — with no co-pay. The rule will take effect Aug. 1, 2012, or later.

()

Of course, insurance companies don’t provide anything for “free.” Any time they cover a new service or eliminate co-pays, they charge higher premiums to make up the lost revenue. So the department is forcing people who do not use birth control to subsidize it, through higher premiums, for people who do.

(Billy's Thoughts>>> So my tax money should pay for something I don't believe in. Now I have no issue if a couple thinks they are done having children that they use birth control but not everyone agrees with me and why should the money of tax payers  be used to pay for birth control. I for sure don't want teens to get birth control which will give them just another excuse to keep behaving badly. I was blessed the other day when my doctor told me he won't even give out birth control. Good for him. I won't give you his name in case Obama reads this and  wants to force him to do it. )

9th Circuit: University Can Force Christian Groups Open to Non-Christians

A federal appeals court ruling this week could significantly diminish public university religious groups' ability to restrict membership and leadership to students who agree with their teachings.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Tuesday (Aug. 2) that San Diego State University (SDSU)'s nondiscrimination policy for officially recognized campus groups is constitutional and does not violate the rights of two Christian groups. The policy is based on a nondiscrimination policy used at all the schools in the California State University system.

(9th Circuit: University Can Force Christian Groups Open to Non-Christians)

The two Christian groups, sorority Alpha Delta Chi and fraternity Alpha Gamma Omega, had sued SDSU in 2005, alleging the policy violated their free-speech and religious-freedom rights. In order for the groups to be recognized as official campus groups, they were required to allow all students to be members, even if their beliefs were contradictory to the group's beliefs.

The three-judge panel disagreed with the groups, stating the policy is a "rule of general application" that is not unconstitutional in its intent. "[We] do not doubt that, regardless of [SDSU]'s purpose in enacting its nondiscrimination policy, the policy will have the effect of burdening some groups more than others," circuit judge Harry Pregerson wrote in the panel's decision. "But the fact that a 'regulation has a differential impact on groups wishing to enforce exclusionary membership policies' does not render it unconstitutional. … Any burden on religion is incidental to the general application of the policy."

(Billy's Thoughts>>> So is this court now going to force the NOW to allow men in it ranks. This was not a good ruling. Are Jewish groups going to be forced to let Christians join their ranks? What about the law of the land which allows you to follow the teachings of your faith.)

Breakaway Lutherans gathering

About 800 members of the newly formed North American Lutheran Church will meet in Ohio this week to elect leaders and set church direction. (Breakaway Lutherans gathering in Ohio )

The church was formed last year by congregations that quit the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America after America's largest Lutheran denomination decided to allow non-celibate homosexuals into its clergy.

(Billy's Thoughts>>> Good for this new  church which  is standing for Bible based truths which are older than our times.)

NBC's 'Playboy Club' pushing the envelope

Parents Television Council has launched a campaign targeting NBC for the network's plan to air a new show this fall that the group says "glorifies and glamorizes" the porn industry.

NBC describes The Playboy Club as a "provocative new series [that] captures a time and place that challenged the social mores, where a visionary created an empire, and an icon changed American culture." Canned responses from NBC affiliates across the U.S. praise the upcoming series as "a sophisticated series about the transitional times of the early 1960s and the complex lives of a group of working-class women." NBC's 'Playboy Club' pushing the envelope )

(Billy's Thoughts>>> I guess we have come along ways from Leave it to Beaver or a better saying might be we have gone along ways down. Once  sin was called sin or at least wrong behavior on TV now those who make TV shows sees no shame in  blessing or encouraging what we once called wrong.)

SEAL who died loved Jesus, loved America

The widow of one of 30 U.S. troops killed Saturday in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan says her husband loved Jesus Christ and loved his country.

On NBC's Today show, Kimberly Vaughn was asked what she wants her two-year-old son and two-month-old daughter to learn about their father, Navy SEAL Aaron Vaughn. She said, "They will take away his love for Christ. They will take away his dream and his love for this country." (SEAL who died loved Jesus, loved America )

His mother, Karen Vaughn, added that she was "most proud of the way he loved God -- and how important his faith was to him." She said Aaron didn't fear for his life "because he knew where he was going" when he died.

(Billy's Thoughts>>> It is a blessing to read how this one man loved his nation and his God. It is also great news to know at least one of those killed was ready to die and meet God face to face.  Bless the Lord! May God used this sad event for his honor. My the Lord also give his family and the families of the others true peace at this hard time.)

'Just War' course labeled 'inappropriate'

A senior Army strategist and Pentagon advisor isn't surprised by the Air Force's recent decision to yield to an anti-Christian group's pressure to suspend and amend a course based on the "Christian Just War Theory."

The course had been taught at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California for more than 20 years and was a requirement for nuclear missile officers who might be called on by the U.S. president to push the launch button.

Lt. Col. Bob Maginnis (USA-Ret.), who now serves as senior fellow for national security at the Family Research Council, says the history of the Christian Just War Theory traces back to the Bible.

Bob Maginnis"Officers and enlisted people in the armed forces who are called on to make tough moral decisions have to have a moral basis," he explains. "Now, moral authority does not come from the president; the moral authority comes from another document. The Founders drew their moral authority from God's Word." ('Just War' course labeled 'inappropriate' )

ABC Family honored by pro-homosexual group

A media watchdog group isn't surprised that a homosexual advocacy group has given ABC Family an "excellent" rating for how it portrays "gays" and lesbians on its programs.

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) recently commended ABC Family for its routine depiction of homosexuals in its programming "in a realistic manner." It is only the second cable or broadcast network to get such a designation in the five years GLAAD has studied TV content. MTV last year was the first. (ABC Family honored by pro-homosexual group )

Matt Philbin is managing editor of the Culture and Media Institute (CMI), a division of the Media Research Council. He says the ABC Family network is not family-oriented.

(Billy's Thoughts>>>> This should be enough reason for us who care about children and family values to not turn these  program on or turn them  off if we having been viewing them.)
